[MI Values Being Reset To Zero]

Hi All

Has anybody had the following issue losing MI Values in programs all reset back to zero for no apparent reason

have not set MI to change to zero on power up have cycled power numerous times on plc doesn't do it, not anywhere in programs am I resetting.  Happening at 3 different sites, completely different programs. One site happened 2 years of running fine after install.  One was running off of generator supply.

Only happens to MI that are either keypad entry or used to manipulate data in the program.

Using switch mode power supply to power plcs, have replaced backup battery even though not getting battery low alarm SB8

Still happens - only common thing across sites is that they are either out in the country or at a  mining site powered by generator.

We went down that path after we posted on the forum we were trying to be too clever (not normally a problem) and use protocol scan but that only seems to work when matches complete string.

Hello...

We need to parse a text string to search for a single character within the string. This will then be used to trigger an SMS output. The incoming string is variable length with the last part also unknown content. The string header is known format. The terminator, (ETX) is 0xOD 0xOA, (CR LF).

 

We can successfully scan a properly, fully, defined string however we cannot figure out how to simply look for the first character for example find "A" in the start of the string or deal with a variable string.

 

Also once we see an "A" in the start of a string we still need to copy the entire string from the buffer to memory.

 

Any ideas or input is welcome......

Hi all

I have a V570 its been on site for 1 year, twice in the last 2 months Ive had an expansion error when someone goes there all the card run lights are solid is there any SB or SI that will tell me which card is causing the issue also would be nice if you could automatically reset fault so plc starts up again.

Currently have an issue with remote operator have a V570 850kms away connected via ethernet through a vpn and 7.2mbps modem, ping is around 300ms, works fine until I display a hmi page that has a plant overview with lots of icons and variable data the icons and data come up with red boxes have tried changing the refresh rate currently at 60 secs that has made it better still get red boxes with crosses in them but they do disappear before the next refresh. I want to know is there any way so that remote operator doesn't refresh page until it has all the data so I dont get the red boxes.

Thats exactly what I meant, should learn to be more descriptive, had a V570 go into fault expansion card error was able to reset via ethernet modem. Little bit concerned as some of our V570s are on remote unmanned sewerage treatment plants would like the plc to try an automatic reset even if its gone into stop mode.

Because lots of our plcs are in remote areas we have to make changes remotely, unfortunatley I have found doing a burn to memory is fraught with danger if something goes wrong and no one is there. It would be great if when you download without burning the program in the flash is not effected, so if the backup battery goes flat on the next power up the plc loads the flash memory program basically two differnt programs in the same plc.

Is there any way to turn off the information mode, be really handy to set/reset SB to do this because if you use remote operator and click the mouse too long V570 goes into info mode which is not supported remotely anyway.

[Support for 3G Modem]

Looking at a 3G option to replace the existing gsm modems (wavecom,siemens) still need to use rs232 as the primary function is to send out alarm sms, always nice to get quicker speed for remote access though. As the modem needs to use one of the com ports starts getting ugly to try and get modems that aren't supported to communicate with unitronics.

Was wondering if unitronics had any plans for supporting a 3g modem as it appears here in Australia that the largest telco is starting to shut down parts of its 2g network meaning that all the exising modems are only going to be good for paper weights?

Hi

would like to see the times in the drum sequencer being able to be linked to timers so you can change the times online easily, its annoying having to change the times then download the whole program if your using V530 ect.

having an issue with visilogic version 8.6.3 when I use the modem services and try dialing a modem using tapi I get the following errors before visilogic shuts down

Have had the problem on jazz, V130, V530 and V570 yes Im using the latest os, first thing I do now is check os have had that drummed into me by our unitronics supplier

Im using 8.6.3

It fails the initialize pc side modem check then if keep trying might get lucky and will initialize

Have taken the pin off the sim

Unfortunately the sim provider is the only one with decent coverage where we install these modems might try one of my work mates sim card out of their phone different phone company to try and prove thats were the problem is. Have had some out in the field work for years others work great for weeks then starting having issues.
