  1. +1. This would be really good to have documented so that we could integrate the display/control into our support/monitoring system.
  2. Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing: I'm needing to emulate the functionality of the UniDownloader. I don't need the ability to actually make changes to what is downloaded, just to be able to download a new image. My scenario is a linux based system that is equipped with Unitronics PLCs. I need to implement the automated update of said system using the native linux control computer (i.e., there is no windows software of any sort in/around the system). Does UniDownloader really do all of those things (compile the ladder, HMI, hardware configuration)? If so, what solution would you suggest so that we can continue to use your PLCs?
  3. Thanks. Perhaps for the next person looking for it, a link from the Technical Library could be added (and the obsolete documents removed).
  4. So if I were attempting to implement the ability to download new programming via a linux-based application, do I not need to perform these other undocumented commands?
  5. In Communication with the Vision PLC (version 20/9/04), only 3 binary commands are listed: 4, 68, and 77. However, when I sniff a download operation, I see at least one other, a 0 (zero) command. Is there some other document that describes all of the possible commands? Thanks, Jeff
  6. After reading about protocol to talk with a PLC (from the Communication with Unitronics PLC" on the Technical Library page), I tried sniffing the packets sent out by the download tool to the PLC. To my surprise, the payload had some extra information at the start of the messages. In looking around at the Unitronics site, I've seen mention of an "Ethernet header" in several postings on this forum as well as on the archived forums. There's also mention of a document describing it, but the title mentioned in http://www.unitronics.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2982, VisionCommunication, is nowhere to be found on the Unitronics technical library page. I was able to use google to locate a document with a file mentioning "Ethernet header" at http://www.unitronics.com/data/uploads/%20utilities/VisionCommunication.pdf Is this document no longer current? If it is, why isn't it on the Technical Library page? If it's not current, what's the best place to find a definition for the "Ethernet header"? Thanks, Jeff
  7. Any news? Would it be possible to post the source to the legacy software somewhere so that we could use it as a model for developing something custom?
