  1. French Fries were not originally cooked in France... Oddly enough, they were cooked in Greece.... 🤔
  2. The problem is that requires advance preparation. Yes Flex, I keep archived installs also... just seemed odd that it happened when I installed Remote Access Yes, Win 10, and just downloaded the latest version from Unitronics website... And the winner is.... Aus.....😌 Renamed the .evb file and created new, problem solved.... Thanks guys...
  3. I just put an ethernet card in a different V350 a couple days ago, had to dis-assemble down to the bottom (front) as it mounted underneath everything and ended up in the lower port hole, you break the little hole cover in half and put it in to fill the top hole. I thought maybe the serial card somehow mounted above that, but I don't know as I've never added a serial to a V350....
  4. Hmmm.... that didn't help, what's the second thing you try?
  5. Hey All, I'm in the midst of upgrading an older V120 project to a V350. The V120 has two installed serial ports; I use Port 1 for programming and Port 2 for RS485/MODBUS to an AB VFD The V350 has one installed serial port along with a USB port. The spec sheet says; "Note that physically connecting a PC to the controller via USB suspends RS232/RS485 communications via Port 1. When the PC is disconnected, RS232/RS485 resumes." So, in essence this means I could use Port 1 for my RS485/MODBUS, and can plug into the USB if I need to program. I guess the downside is t
  6. Hey All, Just had a strange experience while installing Remote Access onto a PC. Now this PC is one I use as my normal workstation, email/office/CAD/etc, but not my PLC stuff, but I do have an older version of Visilogic (9.8.31) installed that I use to get online to look at something in the plant without disturbing what I'm doing on my programming PC. Now I just finished a little project (a water meter using a Dwyer Ultrasonic Flowmeter, connected to a V350) that I was going to setup Remote Access for a manager to be able to remote into... So, just for testing purpose
  7. Or is the OP saying that he got a new Jazz20 to replace an existing Jazz20 , and needs to know how to get the code out of the old and into the new??
  8. no, I'm logged in, even tried signing out and back in again. probably something on our network blocking me, I'll give it a shot from my home puter tonight...
  9. I like your style. It's more efficient, I have separate bit for every Modbus command. Will give this method a try. Kieran I would like to see your "style", I sometimes do MODBUS and I always feel my code is clunky.... But I can't seem to download your sample projects, as though they are now dead links... Regards, JohnR
  10. My wife tells me this from time to time, she'll be talking to someone about some not-to-common subject, next day there will be references to that subject on her phone. this I why I avoid all the "smart" things my phone can do... I text, take pics, use the calculator, oh and sometimes talk.... I avoid IoT also.... Also, not my joke..... My wife got her eyebrows painted on I told her they were too high she looked surprised
  11. I don't know, even though I grew up around a farming community, I was never keen on baling wire and duct tape repairs 🥴
  12. As I've mentioned somewhere here before, I've taken to the habit of drilling holes in the corners of the snap-in modules (I've made a little drilling template that lays over the module), and securing with screws. For a few years now, the creators have provided screw bosses on the PLC case, but they still don't put the holes in the modules? this doesn't prevent someone from bending a pin, but it sure keeps the snap-in module from falling off due to machine vibration....
  13. or maybe it's reverse logic and you are supposed to uncheck it if you don't want the prompt?? 🙃 Did you try that Joe?
  14. Or even the perception of what your own voice sounds like... I remember as a young man, just getting into music, recording myself on a tape recorder (yes, reel to reel 😏), and being so surprised what I sounded like (that's me?).... I did go on and play in a couple of bands in my youth, and one "soundman" we had really loved to over-use the delay. Yep, really hard to sing when your own voice is slapping back at you two words later... JohnR
  15. Well gee Joe, I was on your vendor list web page yesterday and missed this one completely..... Sometimes its easier to ask and have someone wave it under your nose than to do relentless research on the web 😌 JohnR
  16. Hey All, I have a little project where I want to monitor DC current in a panel where there is currently mechanical amp meters. I'm trying to find some sort of a DC current transducer 0-10Adc input (minimum), that will give me a 0-10Vdc output. A search of the web brought up little results, so I thought I'd ask the community if anyone has any suggestions... JohnR
  17. Very cool indeed..... I seem to remember seeing something like god mode in a Win7 forum years back, but I don't recall it being this simple to implement. Thanks, Aus Easter Bunny JohnR
  18. Define an array of MB's say, MB101 through MB132, these are the bit coils that your alarms will trigger. Use the Bit to Num FB (under vectors); A = the starting MB of your array, MB101 B = the DW where you want to store your "bit word", DW1 C = the length of you MB array, const 32 if MB104 is on, then the forth number of the DW will be 1 if MB128 is on, then the 28th number of the DW will be 1 and so on....
  19. Well, another couple of weeks of trial & error, and I'm still having this issue... I set up another computer with a fresh install of Win10 (thinking maybe something was amiss with the previous computer). DataXport ran for a day and a half before it popped up this same 3709 Runtime Error... And the error still pops up almost daily, getting pretty frustrating..... Anyone else have any ideas? JohnR
  20. Plus, with the Data Table method you can use the DataXport utility to copy the Data Table to an Excel file, saved into a folder or emailed to someone... JohnR
  21. AAAAHHHHRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!! Went a little over a week without an error, now suddenly I'm back to a couple times a day.... Win10 does not show any updates installed in the last two weeks.... Again I ask, am I the only one who is having this issue? Maybe I'll try a different computer, perhaps there is a ghost in this machine. JohnR
  22. Good news, I think.... Seems my computer received a big Windows Update late last week, and since then I have not had this error (mind you it had gotten to the point where it would pop up the error several times a day in the last week). And the problem seems to have started the last time I had a big update..... Time will tell.... JohnR
  23. Anyone out there in Creatorland have any suggestions? Is anyone else having this issue or is it just me? I am running ver 3.1.23 of DataXport which appears to be the latest, and it is the only app running on a fresh Windows 10 PC I've tried adjusting my schedules, and how many sites I read from, and I tried writing to the local PC where DataXport is running, all with the same inconsistent issue. JohnR
  24. this is what I'm thinking, it happened every now and then when I was using Win7 and Office 2010 (installed locally), but the issue started happening more often when I upgraded to Win10 and Office 365 (cloud based). I'm thinking that sometimes we are stepping on each other, that is, the end user program goes out and reads the Excel files 4 minutes after I start my read/write process and perhaps he is trying to open the newest Excel [NOT RESPONDING] file before I'm done writing it....😴 I changed the times on my schedule this morning to give a bigger gap between my write and his read, w
  25. In each Vision PLC, I take a reading every minute, which is saved to a Data Table. DataXport then connects with each PLC at a given schedule, copies the Data Table, and saves to an Excel file on a shared network drive. (some of the PLC's are read only once or twice a day, others are read every 15 minutes as the end user of the data wants close to real time updates). The end user of the data, reads the Excel file on a similar schedule (but not at the same minute) and puts it into fancy charts and graphs for every one to see..... run time error 3709 says; "The connection cann
