  1. I can see the Phillips on the left doing the job, but that flat blade on the right is gonna start arcing from lack of tension??😁 But Wait... Do I see a jumper between the two legs on the bottom side?? is this a 240 to 120 converter circuit?
  2. OH, Aus... BTW, I assume you are in the middle of Winter "Down Under"??😉
  3. Hey Aus... I re-arranged a the logic a bit like suggested, but MB 91 still doesn't SET, I agree that I probably would not see the SET/RESET of MB 91 online, but MB 90 should set until my "timing sequence" finishes (Counter/Compare vs Timer logic).... And at that point I had an "AH-HA" moment... In Net 8 I had not called -(R)- on MB 90.... Made that change and it works as intended... Oh, this mid-west USA heat is stifling my brain...🙄
  4. I shouldn't have to use a -[P}- for MB 91 (although I tried that, as well as putting the RESET for MB 91 in a later Net)... Here's another example I've had in a project for years... Yes, it's a DT FB, but I would think that SETTING another MB should give the same response.... SET MB 100 in debug, the FB executes, then RESET MB 100... Or SET MB 91 in debug, MB 90 SETS, then RESET MB 91.... "Help Mr Wizard, Help" (ahh, tutor, tutor, tutor, trizzle, trazzle, truzzle, trone, time for this one to go home...)🥴 JohnR
  5. hey all... Ok, I've been retired for a year and a half, and sometimes I feel quite rusty... But I'm starting to think I've gone daft... I'm making a small mod to one of my home projects, and my mind (or something)is playing tricks on me. Here's the setup; My 'puter is in the house, connected via Ethernet to a V570 out in my workshop, I have no problems with communication. The V570 controls various things, one of them being the pump on my pool, which has four daily timing periods, as well as manual on/off functions that override the timers. all well and good... But it never fails, just as my wife gets in the pool, the current time period ends, and I have to go turn it back on manually, which also means I have remember to go back out later, and turn off the manual override... So my old brain starts thinking, hey, I could put a physical pushbutton within easy reach, that will start a timed override... And all that logic is easy enough, but it's 100 deg F out today, so I'm in the house playing with this... Now all the previous description is just for the sake of conversation... What has me scratching my head as I'm trying to emulate the press of a pushbutton in debug. I've done this in the past, but doesn't want to work for me today... In net 6, MB 91 should emulate the PB, that is when I use the online "SET" function, MB 90 should SET, which SETs MB 90, then MB 91 should RESET, and the rest of the logic should just do what it does.... But, I can't get MB 91 to SET Anybody see what I'm missing? JohnR
  6. Like Flex, Joe, and others, I plant a hard coded ID somewhere in a project, usually on some config type screen, it's the name of the program, augmented with the last edit date... A little more work to remember to edit this along with the program changes, but works well for me. Regardless of what any Verify process tells me, I know what is the "latest and greatest" version of the project... JohnR
  7. Ha, I had to look that one up too... How long do we wait? 💼
  8. Gee, I hate to sound smug, but this seems like some situations I've dealt with back when I was still working... I'd spend days trying to show someone how to deal with something, but in the end, the problem was; they were not sharp enough to realize that they didn't understand what they did not know, so therefore they couldn't know what they didn't understand and could not realize where the problem really lay.... Pedro, please do your homework first, then come asking questions...😳
  9. Hmmm.... I don't have an answer to your question, but this raises a question from me... What version of Vision are you using? I have .65 & .94 installed and neither shows a "T38" I/O option for a Samba SM70 -J
  10. I've taken a 3-step approach to this in the past; Cut the logic you want from one program and Paste it into a New project. Skim through the logic and either blank out the operands with dummys, or fill in the known operands from the target program. Cut and Paste paste into the target program without stomping on operands.... And of course it never hurts to save that interim project as an example for the next time you re-use that code....
  11. Just add your operands and connect them as a branch Double click the left mouse button, a crosshair shows up showing you can draw lines to connect the branch.
  12. well I guess that shows how long it's been since I last updated, 9.8.65 is what I've been using for quite a while... like we always say, don't upgrade just because you can, but I wanted to check out some newer FB's so I installed the latest... luckily I do my installs the "Flex Way", with Swapper pointing to virgin copies of each version...
  13. Hey All.. Did I miss some big change to Vision software? I installed 9.8.94 a couple days ago (just to check out the newer Servo FB's), and this morning I was surprised with a pop-up stating this was a trial version, and I had 27 days to register for an activation code or the software would be crippled (in so many words)... Is there a new philosophy to Uni's software distribution? I was a bit taken aback by some of the required registration info; Company Name? hey, I'm retired and just keeping my mind busy... Phone Number? really, I'm gonna post my phone online... I get too many spam/scam calls already... Full Address? I can see giving general location for demographics, but again, enough spam/scam mail... Does anyone else take issue to this, or am I just being fussy? JohnR
  14. A quick check of Remote Operator connected to a PLC via Ethernet, results in a message "Info Mode not yet supported in online mode". Although I'm using RO version 1.0.60.0, Perhaps that has been added to a newer version?
  15. Not Sure if I should put this here in the new "HMI Design" or in "Tips & Tricks".... Recently, an old co-worker of mine questioned me on how I had done a Screen Saver/ Blank Screen on a project I did several years back, I made this example for him and figured I'd share it here... Obviously, I started with just a Display with a black background, and nothing else on it. After a preset time of no touchscreen activity, the logic Loads this blank display. And touching the screen brings it back to the Start-up Display (or where ever you want it to go). While that worked, in the dark the display had a glow from the LCD Back-lighting. This example shows a method to dim the back-lighting on the blank display, and back bright when returning. I've commented each net to explain the logic... I imagine this has been covered elsewhere on the forum, but here is my example... JohnR ScreenSaver Display Blanking.vlp
  16. Hmmm, never thought about that.... I've not seen my old Geiger Counter in years (and the battery in it is probably dead)...
  17. I recently started re-arranging my home workshop (retirement is wonderful)... And I run across things that haven't seen the light of day in decades... I dug out this old (late 50's vintage) EICO VTVM, it was given to me by an old ham radio guy back in the early 80's. I used it for a while back in my youth until I could afford something better. I plugged it in and let the tubes warm up, then took some measurements comparing to my DMM, gross differences... I got online and actually found a pdf copy of the user manual which included schematics and the calibration procedure. In the manual I was surprised to find that while it was line powered, there was also a "flashlight battery" inside for the Ohms scale. I opened the case expecting to find a corroded battery mess, but all was fine, and that old battery still read about 1V. Eveready Super 99, "the battery that doesn't know when to quit", with a price mark of 35 cents...
  18. There's 10 kind of people in the world... those who know binary, and those that don't...
  19. I had this happen a couple years ago, I don't remember the exact reason, but it was a Windows video driver thing....
  20. Hey Ken, I've recently retired after working in an industrial environment for over 35 years, dealt with a lot of packaging equipment. While I don't proclaim to be an programming engineer, I have been programming for many years, with about 15 years experience with Unitronics. I can't commit to anything long term, but I may be able to help out with some projects... Message me (private if you wish) with some basic details of your projects. JohnR
  21. The wife and I were taking a scenic drive, we went past the old prison down by the river, where my wife said; "there's a midget climbing over the fence" I said; "that's a little con descending" 🙄
  22. Well, maybe I was udderly ridiculous in my perception.... But I really was expecting to see the cow (in the lower left) leave a pile of manure for the man to step on... 🤢
  23. OK, I'm sorry Aus... I don't get it..... Does it have something to do with ya'all don't de-horn dairy cattle down-under??
