Thanks 🙂
I have submitted these, and will update regarding the outcome (no timeline, sorry!) -
And oops!!
I deleted the post @Flex727responded to, while trying to edit it.So, the original post asked if people here read science fiction, and if anyone knew the story The Machine Stops, by E.M. Forster, a story written before the Golden Age of SF.
As I posted above, the story can be found here: https://www.classicly.com/bibi/pre.html?book=732.epub/
I first encountered it in an anthology. -

I read a lot of SF, but I don't know that story. I looked it up and it looks interesting and seems relevant to today. It looks like I can get it for my Kindle for $3.99.
or here for free!

OK--after the VisiLogic R&D people looked into this a bit deeper--it seems that the potential pitfalls are greater than we thought at first glance.
What they are proposing is to create a CSV with before and after addresses.
I know it isn't the solution you requested...but it is helpful, isn't it?

@Flex727, yes anything after OS 4.010.34 up to but NOT including OS 4.10.46.
BTW--I need to mention that, for a variety of reasons, we run internal builds, that are not actually released with an Official VisiLogic Version.
Apparently, OS 4.010.34 was an internal build--and your VisiLogic version 9.8.94 was released with OS 4.010.36 (which does have the bug)Live Update from the Web will download the fixed OS 4.10.46.

OMG!!!
IT'S ALIVE!!!
Thank you so much to all of you guys.In order to register what worked:
- Visilogic version:9.8.65
- OS version: 4.008 (10)
- Use the Modbus configuration from example "C:\Program Files (x86)\Unitronics\Unitronics VisiLogic_C\Examples\Version 900\Project examples\Communications\Ethernet\V700_Modbu_TCP slave.vlp".
I believe the culprit was OS version, I'm going to try with Visilogic 9.8.91 and 4.008 (10) OS Version, and come back here to tell you my results.
Again thanks to all of you, you are great!@Javier Galaz, I also want to thank you for your effort in getting answers. It is so much easier to give support when posters are so clear regarding their method and goals!

@Ausmanand @Joe Tauser, I apparently missed this request way back in 2016 😖.
Apologies...🙏However, it was recently referenced in another thread.
It should be doable--I need to give a definition to the team.
Are there any points you (or anyone else) would like to clarify/add to the feature request?O)h--and you are definitely referring to VisiLogic, yes?

Hi people--good news.
Our team tracked down thisV700 Modbus TCP issue bug, which is indeed related to the OS version released in mid-December 2021, 4.010.34 .
We have now released a fix, included in OS 4.10.46. You can run Live Update from the Web via Help> Live Update>Operating System in order to download this fixed OS version.
I would like to thank all who participated in this thread - especially our fabulous moderators for giving me a heads-up, enabling us to stomp this bug!
-
@Joe Tauser, please let me know what you find!
There seem to be a few issues here.
I am tracking this thread, and am drawing it to the attention of the relevant people--but please allow me to say that this is an example of the Unitronics Forum Community at work!
Kudos to all participants 🙂 -
@YINGD, Thanks for the suggestion and @Flex727, thanks for pinging me.
Sometimes I really enjoy playing Forum Goddess 🤪
Here it is:

@YINGDyour Graphics library idea is excellent, but would take some doing--I have submitted it for consideration. -
Hi--I did see this previously, but forgot to tell you guys that I reported the bugs.
Thanks for the heads-up 🙂 -

I'm wondering about CanBus cables. Does Unitronics offer a premade CanBus cable with the 5-pin connector on each end?
No, @Flex727(sorry for the late reply0

@Flex727, thanks for pinging me!
@Kpotmake--apologies. I see that there is in fact no documentation for Draw Shapes, and I will include this in a future release--thank you for drawing my attention to this.
For now, I can answer some of your questions:- >-What is the maximum amount of shapes per group before I receive the error message from the insert shape function block 'maximum shapes reached' (error -8)?>
You can include a total of 4 groups with 128 shapes in each one .
- >-When is the shape inserted in the group? On the rising edge of the input or does it keep adding shapes as long as the input is high? Same question for draw shape group function block
When the Ladder Element 'Insert shape' is called and status =0
- -What is the maximum thickness for a line / rectangle before I receive the error message -2? Edit: seems to be 10
Correct--10
- -Is it possible to create a solid circle / rectangle instead of just the border lines? Edit: since I haven't received any replies I made a loop that creates an increasingly smaller triangle / circle to fill the shape
No, it is not possible
- -Are the available colors defined somewhere? Edit: the color codes seem to be HTML color codes (https://htmlcolorcodes.com/)
Yes, they are:
HEX color code (https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_hexadecimal.asp)Hope this helps!

Thanks for the feed back guys!
Ausman, yes it's a great feature and would be really nice for something like a remote installation but in this instance I don't believe it's very practical with the large data requirements of this business plus 4G static IP addresses are becoming increasingly difficult these days with Telstra no longer issuing them and the specialist ISP that do provide them are very expensive on the data front.
Joe, this is exactly how I imagined it would work and fills me with much confidence! looking forward to giving this product a run.
Hello there 🙂
I just thought I would mention that our UCR router now supports MODBUS as well--might be of interest.

I got an answer from the french support. So in fact it was very simple. I just have to check the "computer version" box in the webpage options. I sincerely believed it was an issue in UniCloud and I didn't thought about this option.

wow. I watched about 4 minutes of that, which is something of a record for me in terms of video-clip viewing. That was impressive.

Ok--on the list of the Web team--thanks!

Will check--thanks Joe 🙂

@Ausman, you almost killed me with that--especially the last one!!! Thanks, cobber :-)
