Hi Forumites, I am encountering communication error while using the Dataxport utility software. I have been using this for a while but for the past 3 days I am not able to create a table on the same. Please find the below communication error. I am able to read the values from the PLC to the data tables (see the attached). Has some one faced similar issues on the utility software. Thank you for contacting Unitronics Tech Support. What do you need for security? Are you filtering out who can connect to your web server? Usually the security for who can connect in to the PLC is dealt with on the modem side when you set up the port forwarding. When connecting to the PLC’s web server outside the network, they first have to connect to the modem on the PLC’s network. You may also set up similar security by keeping a list of “secure” IP addresses in a data table, then matching the IP that connects to see if it is in the data table list. If it is not, disconnect the TCP/IP connection. Furthermore, if you wish to have a log-in page with different levels of operators, you will have to create the HTML pages for this type of log in. You can then load these HTML files into an SD card, and access the “Advanced Webserver” on the PLC. Use the logic in the PLC to load the appropriate web pages. Please let me know if this helps. Please let me know a little further what type of security features you would like to incorporate. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns.

Hi Sefapie, You can energize an output using a relay and make the contacts(NO,NC) wet with the particular voltage and send the same to the field. Is this what you are looking for me or some thing else. Cheers Vj

Hi All, Attached is the picture where I have an issue in English to French translation,needs some inputs from team. When I translate the English Characters in French the characters such as e (with a tick mark) it allows to save me in font Arial 8 & Arial 12,B only. If u notice in the attached pic I had Arial Narrow and preview on PLC screen shows as * for special characters. Is that mean I need that special characters to be displayed only in above said fonts only or can I save the same in other fonts too. Please throw some light on this. Cheers Vj

Hi, Uninstalled RA and re installed the same, restarted the computer, Ran the application in administrator mode. Still getting the same error "Run Time Error 5" One more thing Ausman my SB 168 bit was not on initially I made that BIT forcefully on. Attached is the pic of the same. Regards Vj

Hi Flex & Ausman, Please find the attached screens where I am encountering an error while connecting the same to Remote Access. Screen-1 is the successful connection between PLC-PC. (PLC name hided for Privacy Reasons). Screen-2 is the error when I am trying to connect the system online test. It would be nice if you guys could spot the error. Cheers Vijay

Hi Just Curious to know about remote access I downloaded the same from main site. When I tried to connect my PLC through RA it shows run time error "5". I found data export and SD card suite more useful but no success with this package. How to connect the same and get the best out of this package. Vijay

Thanks a lot Flex. I have one more quick question to you I have enabled the web service utility of V-570 PLC. I am able to view the data's on the web browser, now I need to connect the same to the Plant network which has internet connectivity. So in that case what security measures do I need to take care of the PLC.

Hi Flex727, Thank you for your reply. Yes I am giving more than a minute for detection. Today morning to a surprise I bought a brand(SAN DISK MAKE-8 GB) new SD card and plugged it into my PLC, now the same is working.
