  1. Dear All, I am trying to insert the HMI function/element "file selector browser" but in every point where I tried to insert this I have had the alarm : element exceed screen boundaries. What I am doing wrong? I am using an USP-070... regards
  2. I am still experiencing occasional HMI mismatches. The application has been created under Windows 7 and I have upgraded to Unilogic 1.7.62. I also upgraded the OS on my 10" Unistream to the current firmware. This problem happened before the upgrades and is still happening on occasion.
  3. I'm the first time user of Unistream and I'm testing my system. Today I just stood in front of the HMI and it showed "HMI Overload" while nobody was touching the system. I called technical support and was told it could be electromagnet noise. I followed all the wiring instructions in the manual so I don't know what happened.. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks.
  4. Dear All, I update at the version 1.18.37 without any problem; I created a new program and I see that if I expand in full screen (F11) I can't select the tag for the HMI object; if I let the screen in "normal size" it works; what can be wrong? to be clear...the tags list appears but if I try to select one of it I don't select it but a row int the "properties window" of the same object. ladder works in both condition. I opened some project done with the version 1.17.73...and for all I saw that some local tags was highlighted as "this tag can be link..."; the local tags was BUFFER.
  5. The R&D gurus at Unitronics headquarters have been hard at work - and so, we present you with: >drum roll< UniLogic 1.18.37 >drum roll< Here are a few version highlights: SQL Connectivity: Highly convenient and easy to use, UniLogic enables programmers to build SQL Queries and execute them via Ladder functions, including data transfer data between UniStream’s Data Tables and remote SQL databases. HMI Custom Controls: A programmer can create an HMI Custom Control, and then drag and drop it from the Solution Explorer, export/import it between projects as .uluce files, or add it to the Library. Programmers can also define tags that are local to a specific Custom Control; local tags are exported/imported along with the control. Other convenient features include an HMI email Configuration Widget, the ability to edit email accounts via UniApps as well as UniApps interface translations for Russian, Polish, and Chinese. To enjoy these as well as other additional features and enhancements, download it from http://unitronicsplc.com/software-unilogic/ U90 Ladder version, 6.6.24 + New Jazz® 2 We have also released a new U90 Ladder version, 6.6.24. This version brings you the option to create a download File (*.d90) without connecting to a physical PLC. You can then use the *.d90 file to create zipped project via UniDownloader Designer to be used in Unitronics' UniDownloader software utility (*.udc) This version also supports a new Jazz® 2 controller model, a compact, full-function PLC that comprises an excellent built-in I/O configuration, plus an integrated text display. The new model, JZ20-UA24, offers 15 inputs: 9 digital, 1 high-speed counter, 2 inputs that can be wired as analog or digital, and 2 analog inputs that can be wired as thermocouple or PT100 . The output configuration includes 5 relay, 2 transistor, and 2 analog outputs. Like all Jazz® 2 controllers, JZ20-UA24 brings you 48K (virtual) Ladder Logic memory, a built-in mini USB programming port, and is 30 times faster than Unitronics’ standard Jazz® controller, allowing industrial control processes to enjoy more power, speed and functionality at the same low price.
  6. I am using a V1040 for this project. I need to have 6 buttons that act like a group of radio buttons, i.e. each button is mutually exclusive. Only one button can be active at a time and selecting a different button toggles the others off.
  7. Hi, I have a Vision V1210 Controller that is supposed to read float values from pH meter over RS485 MODBUS RTU. All the communication is fine, using "Read Float Registers" FB the float value is stored in two consecutive MI registers (MI0 and MI1). I can see that retrieved value is 32bit float ordered big-endian (I believe that's IEEE 754) and I was wondering if there is some way to display it on screen? One way would be converting it to some integer representation so I can easily put it in a numeric box and use 1.2 decimal format (pH values should be in range 5.00-9.00), but I haven't found any ladder element for such conversion. Am I missing something obvious? It's worth mentioning that I don't need to do any calculations on these floats, just display them on screen. Thanks -- Petar.
  8. Hello When I convert an data sampler file (.uspm)to Excel it contains a column called "triggered" that is not the name of a variable I am logging. The value called "triggered" seems to react fast changes in logged value (se after time 20:56:27) and be more correct than the actual value(s)saved as logged (ATinRaw, and TTinRaw). Is this because the trend tool contains a built in filter? Is there any way to turn this filter off? 9. Dear all, I need to write a second row description in a button (as I seen in the example) but I don't understood how, can someone help?
  10. I have to add to an existing project a 2nd HMI language. changing the texts on the HMI on the fly. Is there a way to export all existing texts (also the alarms), translate them and to load them back into the project? I am trying to find something on the YouTube channel, but I seem to be too blind for it... Thanks in advance!
  11. Hi all, What is the meaning of "pen icon" appearing in ladder and HMI sections in solution explorer? Because, I save the project - all pen icons disappears, quit Unilogic, start Unilogic, open the same project, and the again I have these "pen icons". Similar issue is: in the same project I have HMI with data table visualisation. In the properties window I have chosen the right table and tag for "Tag:Selected Row". I save the project, guit Unilogic, start Unilogic, open the same project, and "Tag:Selected Row" is empty. Any ideas for this strange behavior, and aren't the two issues connected? Regards
  12. Hi, I have a button on the HMI that doing some actions, I want to press this button from the ladder code, how can i address that button? there is no a link bit like visilogic. Can I address HMI element by using it's name? thanks, Moran
  13. How can I change the same parameter when I have marked more than 1 element? For example I would like to change decimal point location at 3 numeric boxs on the same location. Is it possible or I have to do it one by one? Thank you in advance.
  14. Hi all, Question: Is it possible to turn the backlight completely OFF in Unilogic by ladder? If I try to control the brightness by ladder; Actions - > "Change Brightness" and link a UINTThe help-file states: So this seems to be normal behavior. But if I use Uniapps -> Display & Audio; Sliding the brightness-slider to zero, does turn the display completely off!According to Version Changes, this is the case since Unilogic 1.8.51, Unistream OS 1.8.9, October 2014 Nevertheless, it would be ideal (for me and others too I think ) if we could get complete control over the backlight, from 0-100%, by ladder. In my application, the PLC will be present in a livingroom, controlling lights, heating, etc. Even at a percentage of 10%, the display is still quite lit up in a dark environment. To avoid being distracted by the lighted backlight watching tv eg.. and to save the precious backlight for prolonged life, I would like the possibility to completely turn of the backlight by ladder if the display hasn't been touched for a predefined time. => Is there a work-around without the need to open Uniapps or am I still missing something? PS. Updated the PLC and Unilogic software to latest releases, being OS 1.15.11 and V1.15.70 at the moment. Thanx in advance, Steven
  15. If I create a password field in a HMI display, it doesn't update the tag when I input my password. It stays empty. I now solved it with creating a text entry in the HMI display and let it disappear once the password is entered. A working password field would be prefered instead of this work a round. Thanks Maurice
  16. I have been using under Visilogic the feature to "Hide" and "Marking" screen buttons. Like this I could hide the button, if its function should not be active (not only disabled, but really "gone") - display it again, when its usage was alllowed and even use the "marked" button as feedback, if for example its initiated function was active. 1 button - 3 functions. In Unilogic I am now at the point to use binary image elements, but I am only managing to get one of the two functions implemented at once: hiding the button using two images (one blank images), but then without the marking view, while a "marked" binary image cannot be hidden anymore. Question: is there a combined "mark" and "hide" function existing in Unilogic? Thanks a lot in advance! Olaf
  17. Using a V350. Quick scenario: F1 jumps to HMI 100 F2 jumps to HMI 101 F3 jumps to HMI 102 F4 jumps to HMI 103 ESC jumps to previous screen/HMI You are the user. You are viewing HMI 5. You press F1 and go to HMI 100. You press F2 and go to HMI 101. You press F3 and go to HMI 102. Now from here, I want pressing ESC and go back to HMI 5. I want HMI 100, 101, 102 and 103 to be completely ignored in the screen load order list. How do I go about doing this?
  18. New Application Story **** Starring Samba in the role of theater grip! **** People--high cool factor here ------------------------------------------------------ Compact, Cost-Effective Samba PLC+HMI Opens Creative Avenues for Local Theater! “Motion Control with Unitronics PLCs has allowed us the freedom to reach for new heights of visceral creativity while expanding our technical innovation in a fast and cost-effective manner”. Summary: The Eagle Theatre in Hammonton, New Jersey partnered with Unitronics’ distributor, Bayview Bearing and Supply, to introduce innovations to a regional theater. Using a Samba PLC with 3.5” color-touch HMI and onboard I/O, the theater implemented a simple motion control application for their set pieces. Since the initial installation, the Eagle Theatre has expanded the application, creating more complex moving sets that greatly enhance the mood and themes of their productions. Full story: The Eagle Theatre in Hammonton, New Jersey is South Jersey’s only year-round professional Equity theatre. They are dedicated not only to bringing great theater to the region, but also to bringing innovation to their productions. To achieve those goals, the theater decided to add moving elements to their sets for one of their productions. Three screens needed to descend at a consistent speed, but at different times. The team at the Eagle Theatre initially tried to use electric winch packages, but these were slow and too noisy to use during a performance. With only one week until the show opened, the theater reached out to Bayview Bearing and Supply, a Unitronics distributor, for help. Bayview Bearing was able to solve these issues by implementing a Samba all-in-one PLC with 3.5-inch color-touch HMI. They worked with Jared Smith, a contractor with Deerfield Electric, who built the panel and installed the unit. The Samba controlled Vacon 20 VFD’s (Variable Frequency Devices) and World Wide Electric Gear Motors in order to move the set pieces. Each of the moving pieces was assigned a virtual button on the Samba; these buttons raised and lowered the screens, while also displaying their current position. Not only did the new system work beautifully, Bayview Bearing was able to get it up and running with enough time for rehearsals with the new system before the show opened. Not only was this particular performance a success due to the Samba, working with PLC control has created new options for the Eagle Theatre moving forward. Ted Wioncek III, Co-Artistic Director at the theater, explains “motion control with Unitronics PLC’s has allowed us the freedom to reach for new heights of visceral creativity while expanding our technical innovation in a fast and cost effective manner.” In fact, the Eagle Theatre has already expanded the motion control application to other shows. For one production, the entire set shifted constantly, with the walls moving in and out independently of each other. A major theme of the show was misdirection, so the moving set was used to reinforce that theme within the physical space the characters interact with. As Ryan Mayer of Bayview Bearing explains, this isn’t a typical motion control application, “this is automation technology meeting the art community and producing fantastic results.” To learn more about Bayview Bearing and Supply, visit them online. 19. Hi two questions and suggestions regarding Trend HMI element: 1) I would like the user to be able to change the X axis time frame, but the property window is not allowing to enter a Tag, but only a constant time frame value. any idea how to walk around this limitation? I found that y axis minimum and maximum values can be changed dynamically by defining a tag within Trend curve List configuration. why cant i do it for X axis too? I did consider using XY trend instead, but then the X variable cannot be displayed as time format. I would like to suggest that this parameter will linked to a global tag like timer preset. 2) Changing curves visibility ON and OFF is a common property mostly implemented by trend graphs viewer and I find it very essential, like if the user or the program wand to focus on a particular curve, or just hide irreverent curves from the display. any suggestion? I would warmly suggest to implement a binary Tag for "Is Viable" column, as for "Min Value" and "Max Value" column. is it possible? Thanks! Ofer Yishai
  20. Hello, I am new on unilogic and I have a quick question to you. Is it possible to change properties of HMI elements, like button's background fill color or size or other , in the ladder. Some function or bloc,or maybe with a script ?(script exist in Unilogic?) Thank you for your time. I hope my english is not too bad Your software is very friendly user and powerful. it pleasant to prog with
  21. I am from Mexico, I hope you could understand what I wrote. I Have a PLC+HMI Unistream 7". I plug in the PLC to HMI and connect the HMI to Power supply, afterwards, screen "initializing" appears and remainds on that screen, kept for hours. I have checked my wirings, PLC and the HMI mutiple times and i sure it´s all in right. I can´t acces to UniApps and upgrade the firmware. The connection PC-PLC is succesful, but the PLC needs upgrade firmware. I hope you can help me. Thank you
  22. I haven't been able to find a good answer to this in the documentation or through the forum search. If I'm using an HMI screen to run a subroutine as 'While Display,' will the '! Main Subroutine' still scan every cycle or does the 'While Display' take precedence and skip '! Main' at that point? Much appreciated.
  23. Hello, I've got a sreen filled with Numeric Boxes that make up a table to use for parameters. I noticed that you have "$_title" in the Keyboard Title, and you can set your own title, but is it possible to make this title variable? The columns are shifted from side to side depending on a variable, and I'd like to add a text that says something like "Column %Column_Number%, Rotation Speed" If you're wondering how the columns are set up: 4 On-Screen Columns 17 On-Screen Rows 20 Off-screen Columns 17 Off-screen Rows Thanks, Exouxas
  24. Hi I have a question about ladder programming (in visilogic): MI1 is coming from a keypad entry, the value range is 0-100. MI2 is coming from an analog input, and is already scaled to the range 0-100. How can i force MI1 to #0 if MI2<20. The MI1 should not be changable by the keypad when MI2<20. Sorry for such a easy and maby silly question. -- IanM
  25. This is more of a hardware question, but it seems like they took the unistream hardware forum down...or I can't find it. Anyways, I've purchased one of the 15.6" Unistream PLC+HMI's and will meet it at the training seminar in Texas. My chief concern is the 15.6" Unistream's operating temperature is only rated down to 32 degrees F where as the 7" and 10.4" models are good down to -4 degrees F. Is this something that will be upgraded in the future? Or is there something about the 15.6" screen that limits its cold temperature rating? Can I pay extra to get cold temp components installed in the 15.6" model? Thanks
