  1. Hi: Brand new V350-J-TR6, straight out of the box, hotted up, a fresh install (yesterday) of Visilogic 9.8.31 on Windows 7 Pro. I went to the Start-up Display, added a piece of text and then tried to add a Numeric object and Visilogic crashed. The "UnHmPge2" message is "Run-time error '372': Failed to load control 'ActiveBar3 from ActBar3.ocx. Your version of 'Actbar3.ocx may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application". Searching shows that this was reported as a problem way back in 2008 on Linux. I DO have Unilogic installed as well. Please don't tell me that THAT might be a problem. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. I'm literally dead in the water 15 minutes into a brand new project. Image attached of the error message. Thanks, Fred Mason Roberts Creek, BC Canada
  2. Hello mates! I have got a problem with CANopen connection between my Unitronics V560 and gateway Turck BL20-E-GW-CO. As u see on the picture I attached after connecting my PLC and Turck gateway Err red diode is turned on. In this case, user manual says: "Faulty or interrupted communication between BL20-CANopen gateway and other CANopen. Possible causes: – CAN-BusOff – Heartbeat error – Guarding error – Transmit timeout" "– Check that the fieldbus ends with a termination resistor, if the BL20-CANopen gateway is the last node in the bus topology. – Check the seating of the CANopen bus connector (or the joints in the case of direct wiring). All connections must be correct and properly seated. – Check the CANopen cable for possible damage, and for correct connections. – Check that the correct bit rate has been set. – Check that the NMT-master is still functioning properly." - I have turned on termination resistor (my gateway is first and the last one at once). I even added extra one to PLC between H and L signal. - My connectors seats well - Cables do not have any issues - Bit rate which I set in "COM PORT INIT" block is the same as in gateway - My master PLC (V560) works What can be issue of my problem? How could I cope with that? Thanks for your time. Cheers!
  3. Hello! I use VisiLogic v.9.8.9 for programming PLC V570. I want protection my project for impossibility from upload, but I can't. In download properties menu this parametr isn't active (attach file - screenshot_1). How I can do it? Thanks!
  4. Hi, I have a question. I'm programming a V1040 with Visilogic, but when I want to configure the hardware, I can not see the IO-IA8 module and expanssion EX-A2X adapter. What I have to do to configure the hardware with this modules? Have a nice day.
  5. Hi, on Samba SM43-J-T20 I am using formula block to calculate simple equation "OUT = A / B * 1000000", where OUT is ML, operand A is MI (range 0 - 10000) and operand B is MI (constant 15747). Is it possible to get exact rounded integer result calculated with floating point registers without using any MF operand? In Help it says: In the following cases, controller will process the formula using floating registers: If the formula contains one or more floating operands. If a constant value in the formula is not a whole number If an operator, such as trigonometric operators, requires that the PLC use a floating register to complete its operation. If I use constant 1000000,0 or 1000,0 * 1000,0 in the formula it does not use floating point registers. For testing I have tried the following formulas (A = 5000, B = 15747): (1000,1 * ( 1000,1 * A ) ) / B result was 44772 (999,9 * ( 1000,1 * A ) ) / B result was 317521 ( ( 1000,1 * A ) / B ) * 1000,1 result was 317000 ( ( 1000,1 * A ) / B ) * 999,9 result was 317521 Can somebody explain these results and give some guidelines on how correctly use formula block. Regards, Matic
  6. Hi Everybody I am looking for Visilogic that would support OS version 3 - i guess it should be version 3.00? (the oldest version on unitronics archive is 3.6.2). I am looking for it because upgrade from OS V3.0 to V3.73 broke the program and the modem doesn't want to initialize Please Help
  7. Hi, I am a new user of Visilogic and installed the latest version in Windows 8.1. I experience the following: 1. Permission 9 denied - When trying to open the program 2. When I manage to open the program I can save but if I try to open the file the program crash. 3. Sometimes I get the message "application is running" when I try to open Visilogic. When I now try to uninstall i get: "An error occurred while launching the setup. the remote procedure call failed" Any advice would be great.
  8. Hi, A subroutine in my program uses a few timers. However, when the first timer starts it then stops after only 0.15 seconds have elapsed - the preset value is 10s - and the program flow does not progress beyond that ladder net. Attached is a screenshot showing the relevant part of the ladder during runtime. Sorry if the solution to resolving this is really obvious, but please could someone suggest how to correct this? Many thanks in advance. - James
  9. Good Afternoon, I'm trying to print from Visilogic 9.7.44 , what i need to print is ladder or directly to printer or to PDF creator .. It is continuing to stop and giving me NOT RESPONDING. Anyone can give me a helping hand ? BR Luke
  10. Hello, While programming UniCan Network I noticed that it is possible to erase all the data of other PLC. For instance, PLC with ID1 can send (random) data to PLC with ID2 and always change MI from 0 to 8000. This way all ID2 will be filled with unknown data and so PLC program will malfunction. This is security issue if anyone will get the access to UniCan cable. My suggestion is to make receiving buffer and do not allow changing PLC data directly. The concept could be similar to UDP data packet structure: Sender, Destination, Data. Of course, many users will have to rewrite their PLC programs, but I believe it would be great improvement. To have compatibility few last MI can be dedicated to network for those who want it. Thank you.
  11. Something I would find, and hopefully others, would be a way to print out the Drum configuration(s). I was unable to find a method for printing it, unless I'm looking in the wrong spot.
  12. Hey folks, new to PLCs and new to this forum. ---- Ok, so this is my issue: Boss wants me to hook up a 350 to an IRC5 ABB controller, preferably through an ethernet cable. No fieldbus adapter on the controller. No devicenet on the PLC. ---- I'm looking at modbus, but I do not really know where to start. ---- What's the recommended protocol for this situation? What kind of programming is involved? ---- ANY help at all would be awesome. Thanks in advance!!
  13. I need a completely automated solution for sending a .csv (or .txt) file to a V350 that can then be imported into a Data Table. This has to happen without human intervention. The .csv file would be in the same format as the Data Table. Ideally the V350 would be able to grab a file from an FTP server and write it to SD Card, then read the file and write it to a Data Table. I'm surprised that there is not a solution like this, as it would be a common requirement to read in a recipe in automated fashion for example. Any ideas? Many thanks .... Kurt
  14. Hi I have a question about ladder programming (in visilogic): MI1 is coming from a keypad entry, the value range is 0-100. MI2 is coming from an analog input, and is already scaled to the range 0-100. How can i force MI1 to #0 if MI2<20. The MI1 should not be changable by the keypad when MI2<20. Sorry for such a easy and maby silly question. -- IanM
  15. Hello! Student from Norway in need of some help.. Having a problem connecting to a Unitronics V570, using computer with windwos 8. Almost tried every version of drivers available on the internet. Found something about windows 8 being incompatible with the PL-2303 XA/HXA chipset which is the one I'm using. Some drivers will make the yellow triangle in Device Management go away, and give a "error 206" in VisiLogic, and the PLC "failed to syncronize" with the computer. Baud rate and COM port is correct. Thanks in advance for replies. - Markus

  17. From my training I understand that direct coil actions are always placed on the right hand side of the rung. While attempting to solve as issue with a co-workers logic I noticed several coils run inline with contacts. Instead of: ----|/|----| |----|/|----( )----(/)---- His ladder contains rungs like this: ----|/|----( )----| |----|/|----(/)---- 1) Visilogic does not produce any errors or warnings but will this cause unexpected behavior at compile/upload to the PLC? 2) I know Allen Bradley PLCS treat serial or parallel coils identical is this the same with the Unitronics PLC Vision series?
  18. Is there any automated way to get data from a database such as SQL into a V350 in an automated way? It would be nice to go from an external database into a Data Table. Anyone with experience in this area?
  19. Hello, My project involves filling a data table with real time data, and in order to progress through the experiment it needs to read the last 100 values recorded, sort them, and then get the resultant range. So I only need to read the last 100 values of the column I am currently fillling up during the program, but I only see a function that copies the entire row to a vector. This wouldn't work as the column has more numbers than the MI memory has operands. Is there any way to only put part of a column into a vector? Thanks in advance!
  20. Hi, I've been developing my application in version 9.6.0 reached at this URL: http://www.unitronics.com/support/downloads.%C2'> What is the latest version? Is 9.6.0 a released version? I assume if I roll back to 9.5.0 then I'll have to scrap what I've done so far since it was developed on a "newer" version. More to the point, any ideas what could be causing the export errors?
  21. Hello to everyone, just a short but in my opinion important question: Is there a compatability table out there, which VisiLogic version is working with which OS on which PLC?? It's just a thing (to me) as often Unitronics recommends on having the latest OS installed and having the latest VisiLogic installed.... I mean, for sure, it's (mostly) the best to have everything up to date, but seriously, having about 60 PLCs out with remote access to only 30% of them, and just going to "let's update them today" just to find that something's not working the way it did before is not a favorite usage of work time to me. Just an example: I had a PLC working fine when program was on (written in 9.3.1). Then it seems, someone uploaded a newer version of that exact same program (two MBs added) with 9.4.0 .... suddenly i couldn't use the display keyboard to enter values (despite the fact that the PLC went to STOP-Mode without showing errors) - no let me correct that, it showed me the place where I could enter them and i was able to press on the screen so that something would be entered, but I don't know what I entered as the complete keyboard was invisible. I had to reupload the program by using 9.3.1 and additionally had to downgrade the OS from 3.6(03) to 3.4(16). Now it's working, but nobody knows why. So, would be nice to know (e.g. in a table) which OS is compatible with which VisiLogic on a PLC. Also would be nice to have a download section for older OS, Boot and BinLib versions, to be able to downgrade for testing purposes and/or troubleshooting. Thanks and have a nice day, FireNeck

  23. OK, I have learned to live with the lack of a usable undo function, and the fairly primitive cut and paste capabilities on the HMI screens. However, today I went to send a screen shot to a client, and luckily I looked at the BMP file before I sent it. There, stretched across the center of the screen, was the Windows "file already exists, do you want to replace it ?" dialog box. Really? Why not capture the screen when the export button is first pressed? The mouse pointer will be off of the screen, and there won't be any dialog boxes. Sorry to vent, but seriously, as good as VisiLogic is, it could be much better if it integrated more Windows functionality into it. Other programming software does, so the ability is there. Paste objects anywhere on the screen, without moving the original. Undo every action, especially an accidental movement of a screen object (something that virtually every Windows program can do). Etc. These seem like small things, but they are time wasters that add up, and time is money when you are programming.
  24. When you install the Unitronics programming software this includes a comprehensive set of example programs covering all aspects of Vision and U90 Ladder functions. These example programs can be opened by selecting Help > Examples from the Visilogic or U90 Ladder software. The examples split into two general areas, those which demonstrate how to use the PLC functions, such as maths or comparisons, and those which show how to configure applications, such as sending SMS messages or logging data to an SD card. If the example program that you need is written for the wrong type of PLC then simply Project > Export the PLC subroutines and then Project > Import them into a project for the correct PLC type. These small programs really work and can save huge amounts of development time as you learn from the experience of others. And if need further assistance then you can always ask us!
  25. We know its the summer Holidays but looking forward we have some places on our next training course in September. 3 day Visilogic training starting on September 17th. Book early to avoid disapiontment. More information. "The course was great and the products are great too – I’ll try my best tomorrow to see if there’s any chance of trying to integrate these into the stuff we’re doing –it would certainly make my life easier!" MB (experienced PLC programmer). Many thanks for the training day. Really learnt a lot yesterday – I think the “stabilisers” have been taken off the bike – so I need to get some practise with this unit, and try to make it do a few things such as counting, and speed measurement ! DB (first time PLC user). Limited places so please contact us for more information.
