  1. Hi, I have Unitronics PLC V130-J-TR20 PLC, which is a master, and two Jazz JZ20-J-T40, which are slaves. I need two of the slave Jazz PLC's to communicate with master V130 PLC. I have made configuration in PLC Program for read and write, but it's not working properly. When i set bit for request to read PLC3 (MB100), it reads it normally. But, when i try to read PLC2, it reads same value that I have on PLC3, although Communication is OK with PLC2. I have read example project, and used it to configure communication between PLC's, like you can see in the images. Regardless of what I do, one of the PLC's is not working properly, communication says it's OK, but keeps reading values from other PLC. IP addresses are different, of course, and i have typed them correctly into the MODBUS IP Configuration, like in the image. On my Jazz PLC's I have done everything like Example project in U90 Ladder says. Is there a way of fixing this? Thankful Nikola Ljubinkovic

Hi, I have two Jazz JZ20-J-T40 PLC-s, and one V130-J-TR20 PLC. I am using zView SCADA. I tried to connect them via Ethernet by using switch, but I cannot use two different PLCs on this SCADA. Then i tried to connect them to SCADA via uniOPC, but communicating is just too slow. I have just one bit that goes from 0 to 1 in 0.5 seconds, and back to 0 in 0.5 (1 second pulse), just for testing, still it's too slow. It runs normally for like 2,5 seconds, and then just stops, and changes in 4-10 seconds, or just freezes for 2-3 minutes, and then changes. My PC Spec are not in the way of this, I am sure of that, i have tried it on my weakest and strongest laptop, still exactly the same results, too slow with just one bit for each of the PLCs, that is 3 bits total. Does anyone had the same problem, is there a way of fixing this? Regards Nikola Ljubinkovic
  3. Hi, I'm using Unitronics PLC JZ20-J-T40, and ZView SCADA. I have successfully downloaded my program into PLC, and tested communication via usb (Serial), and via Ethernet (MJ20-ET1). It's all working properly. Problem begins when i try to connect my PLC to scada PC. With USB everything is working normally, but it's not an option for me to work with usb connection. I want to work with Ethernet communication between PLC and SCADA. What should i do to make it work? Regards Nikola Ljubinkovic
  4. I have been tasked with developing a centralized server that will communicate with many Samba PLCs around the world. Specifically, I need to ensure that the server can contact any PLC and 1) get a copy of the current values or 2) instruct the PLC to change a value. I want to ensure that the PLCs only communicate with the server, no other computers. The data itself is not considered secret, so the fact that VisiLogic does not appear to offer encryption is not a problem. But, it is critical that only the server be allowed to update PLC values. It is simply unacceptable that another person could connect and update values, even if it would take quite the effort to accomplish that goal. Is there any way to ensure that the PLC's will only respond to requests/instructions from our centralized server? If I send a password, as a message, that password would not be encrypted, so others could see and use it. Is there anyway to securely connect to a Samba PLC, using VisiLogic? The server will know the PLC name and the IP Address, but once again, this would be transmitted unencrypted. Is there a way to program the PLC's to only accept connections from certain IP Addresses? In summary, I want to ensure that the PLCs will listen for communication from our server, they will send current values when requested, they will update their values when told, and they will ignore any requests from others. Is this possible? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  5. Is there any way to see which Ethernet socket is active on V700? I went with V700 because it has integrated Ethernet port, but now I can't use SB 147-150 like on other models that require expansion card.
  6. Hello! Another one topic PLC/E-mail. Unfortunately, I'm not able to copy with the problems. I use the ladder from Example (of course). In CMD I write "telnet pop.gmail.com 25" and I can see the protocol type used by the server. After that i tape "pin pop.gmail.com" and see the IP address of the server. The first change that I make in the ladder is IP in "TCP/IP - Tcp connect" block. The new IP is the same as IP address of the server. The second change is in the "E-mail" block. "From:" e-mail is Support@unitronics.com and the receiving e-mail is "..........gmail.com". When I press "connect" in HMI the system is able to connect. However, when I press "Send E-mail" there are two mistakes: "The server cannot receive data (DATA mode error)" and "From address format incorrect " I have tried many settings but non of them was workable. Please, give me an advise where might be the mistake!
  7. I am getting the following error when trying to initialize/go online for the first time with my V570. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Communication over TCP/IP could not be established due to one of the following reasons: - cable connections are not secure - incorrect TCP/IP settings (IP address, Protocol type, Port number) - the connection is currently being used by another application. " ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Right now the first net in my main routine is checking SB2, following by Set PLC Name, followed by a TCP/IP - Card Init, (setting IP to 192.168.1.10), and then a Socket Init (using socket 1, TCP, port 20256, and client set to server [slave]). In communication and OS I have tried my connection as both TCP/IP (Call) & TCP/IP (Listen), I am using a favorite with the same name and IP as specified above. My local machine IP is set to 192.168.1.253. I am connected directly to the ethernet port on the V570 with the V200-19-ET2 ethernet com port I am trying to "stop-download-reset" to go online and I get the above error consistently. I'm sure this is a basic question but I have watched all the tutorial videos and read the help files and I believe I am doing everything I am supposed to, any advice would be great!
  8. Hi, I am new to using VisiLogic and have a V570 for my project. I am trying to understand how to integrate the sensor block with my project. I've previously only used this sensor blocks with AB PLCs. Is this possible with a V570? Does anyone have some experience doing this? I will be using Ethernet/IP to communicate between the controller and the sensor block, I am just unsure how to read/write values from individual ports/addresses on the sensor blocks. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  9. My less than graceful great dane got his foot caught up with my communication cable to my UniStream. Needless to say he pulled the cable out of the controller along with the jack that the cable plugs into so the USB device connection is screwed. I'm trying to connect to the UniStream with an Ethernet cable and am having no luck. I plug an Ethernet cable into my laptop and into UniStream and port lights do light up. I went into UniApps to obtain the IP address to enter into PLC-PC communications to connect using Ethernet and I am having no luck. What am I missing? Also, is it possible to send the panel back for repair of the USB device jack? This panel is brand new, I didn't even pull the plastic of the screen yet
  10. hi there I was debugging a program on a V700 over a direct connected Ethernet link to the PLC and laptop while debugging eventually visilogic would randomly close with the attached error screen I could easily restart visilogic and reconnect the link to continue debugging so more of an inconvenience than anything any help would be appreciated
  11. Hello, I'm having an issue with getting the .NET driver to connect and read values. I am having no problems connecting using Visilogic, but when I take those properties and use them in the .NET driver they don't seem to be working. The interesting this is that I'm not getting an exception, so my application believes the driver is connected, but looking at the properties for the Ethernet object it appears not to be. When I put a break point on the oPLC object, it states that the object could not be evaluated because the previous function had timed out. When run it down to the last line and check the response values it is null. Here's the code: Ethernet ethernet = new Ethernet(_cell1PLC_IP, _cell1PLC_Port, EthProtocol.TCP, 3, 3000); PLC oPLC = PLCFactory.GetPLC(ethernet, 1); oPLC.SetExecuter(OperandsExecuterType.ExecuterPartialBinaryMix); // Create the write request // ReadWriteRequest[] readShifts = new ReadWriteRequest[1]; readShifts[0] = new ReadOperands { NumberOfOperands = 1, OperandType = OperandTypes.MB, StartAddress = 0, }; // Extract the shift times // object[] shiftTimes = ((object[])readShifts[0].ResponseValues);
  12. Hello, I use the Unitronics V350-35-T38, where port 1 is RS232 and port 2 is the ethernet card. When I had setup GSM modem on the port 1 and I had tried to download the program to the PLC I had got a message that I had to change the firmware (OS) in the PLC to the version which support ProfiBus and dial function. So I did that, but then the ethernet card was unavaible. I need both - GSM modem and ethernet card. I tried this in the latest version of Visilogic. Then I tried 9.6 version of Visilogic because in the past we used both and we used this version. I do not know why now it is not possible. Could you help me? Thank you in advance.
  13. Hi, I have a JAZZ2 PLC(JZ20-JT40) with OS V2.35(B08) and with ethernet addon(MJ20-ET1). The plc comes with 2.36 OS but, I have to reflash it because its totally crashed somehow. I can't start it. I am able to connect with the programmer software(V6.6.6 latest). I want to acces to the plc by modbus communication. I set up the sample program by the instructions on the help topic. The modbus topic is shows that, I must store some values to SI. I attached the screen of the sample program. I think the SI values displays weird values. What do I wrong? Thank You
  14. Hi, I have a problem with ethernet-connection, the PLC is V1040 with V200-19-ET1 -ethernet card. I've been using ethernet-connection with Samba (Modbus TCP connection to SCADA software) and it worked fine! The problem is, that when I plug ethernet cable from v1040 to ethernet switch, switch seems to have no activity. Not even Link/act -leds doesn't turn on. When I keep touch screen pressed and enter setup, it show MAC address and IP of ET1, so PLC recognizes that there's ethernet card installed. I've been trying another PLC and another V200-19-ET1, different ethernet switch, different cables, even straight connect to my laptop with cross-connected cable with no results. No activity in ethernet connection. What am I doing wrong? Does V1040 have jumpers that are needed to change?
  15. Hello! Another one topic about PLC/E-mail, unfortunately, I'm not able to copy with the problem... I use the ladder from Example (of course). I setted up PLC's IP, mask and gateway. Firstly, I wrote "telnet pop.gmail.com 25" in CMD to see the protocol type used by the e-mail server - ESMTP. After that I dial the text "ping pop.gmail.com" to see the IP address of the server. I changed a setting in "TCP/IP-Tcp Connect" block. The "Remote IP" inside the block is equal to IP address of the server. The last change is in "E-Mail" block. "From:" e-mail is "support@unitronics.com" and "To:" e-mail is "..........@gmail.com". When i press "Connect" in HMI the connection is done. However when I press "Send E-mail" the program shows two different errors: "'From' address format incorrect"; "The server cannot receive data (DATA mode error)". Please, tell me where might be the mistakes to try to solve them!
  16. I'm trying to connect my PC with a Unitronics PLC. I would like to use Modbus over TCP/IP for this purpose. This is the first step in my project. Later on I would like to connect it to a Rabbit Wolf (BL2600) to exchange I/O. I first want to connect the Unitornics PLC to my laptop to get a decent understanding of the Modbus TCP/IP protocol used by Unitronics. At the moment I'm already stuck, so I hope that someone could help me. I did read the documentation about Modbus Application Protocol on: http://www.modbus.org/docs/Modbus_Application_Protocol_V1_1b.pdf I'm using the Unitronics example code: V280_Ethernet_TCP_MODBUS_IP_Master (without any changes) I used the Vellamod tool to connect and send data: http://www.tuomio.fi/vellamod/index.htm (I'm running windows 8, so I have some problems with other tools and this one seems to work nice) I'm using Wireshark to inspect the TCP/IP traffic. However, I'm now in the current situation. The laptop connects, but I don't get any response. I connect to 192.168.192.5 on port 502. My laptop is set to 192.168.192.10 (subnetmask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.192.254) I try to send the following (see attachment for a printscreen): byte 0: transaction identifier = 0 byte 1: transaction identifier = 0 byte 2: protocol identifier = 0 byte 3: protocol identifier = 0 byte 4: length field (upper byte) = 0 byte 5: length field (lower byte) = 2 byte 6: unit identifier = 255 byte 7: MODBUS function code = tried 3 (Read Holding Registers) and 4 (Read Input Register) byte 8: 00 byte 9: 26 (I try to read MI 38) When I than inspect the transmission with WireShark, I get the following Source: 192.168.192.10 Destionation: 192.168.192.5 Protocol: Modbus/TCP Length: 64 Info: Query: Trans: 0; Unit: 255, Func: 3: Read Holding Registers[Malformed Packet][Malformed Packet] When I set: byte 5: length field (lower byte) = 6 I get no error, but I also receive nothing with the Vellamod tool. According to Wireshark I receive the following: First Source: 192.168.192.5 Destionation: 192.168.192.10 Protocol: TCP Length: 60 Info: asa-appl-proto > 49933 [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=325 Win=1024 Len=0 Followed by Source: 192.168.192.10 Destionation: 192.168.192.5 Protocol: TCP Length: 64 Info: [TCP segment of a reassembled PDU] And finally Source: 192.168.192.5 Destionation: 192.168.192.10 Protocol: TCP Length: 60 Info: asa-appl-proto > 49933 [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=335 Win=1024 Len=0 On the PLC HMI nothing is changing (Socket 3 total transmits: 0;Socket 3 total reiveces: 0) The only strange thing that I can see is that it (Unitronics) seems to use destination port 49933, but I don't know whether this is wrong or right. Hopefully someone can help me. Visual basic code, would also be more than welcome. Kind regards, Peter
  17. I have a signle PLC over Ethernet configured in UniOPC. Why if I set Update Rate to value higher than 3 sec, (00:00:03:00) after couple of seconds values in UniOPC freezes and stop changing?
  18. Hi I am using Jazz JZ20-R31 and MJ20-ET1 I need information on how to implement the communication between PLC and PC over a local network ethernet. Can anyone show a program example, and command structure (ho to read memory integers, inputs or MB) to be send from PC to PLC. How can I use, for example, Ethernet Configuration in the Project Navigation in the U90Ladder Thanks Unnsteinn
  19. I am encountering several problems with my project. I am trying to connect a V 350 to a Yaskawa mp 2600 by using modbus protocol through ethernet. I was wondering what sockets must be initialized to establish a connection between these devices? Must I use socket 2? or socket 2 and socket 0? The master plc (v 350) could send a string to the yaskawa which responds sending a bit back to the V350. From the unitronics side I cant understand what address i should use to read a coil in yaskawa mp 2600. According to the modbus memory model ( found on yaskawa help) if I want to read a coil ( 10001 modbus model ) which is %XB 24560.0 in yaskawa memory map, what slave address should I use to read this coil from Unitronics?
  20. I have setup a UniOPC server and want to communicate between that and a Mitsubishi Q-PLC. I use Linkmaster to connect between, but i need a software that can generate the Tags needed to get data from my OPC. The PLC is a Vision 130 with ethernet card. What can i use or is it a searcret way to make this work? Looking forward to your suggestions! Good morning from the north!
  21. hi, I have a project and require communication between a ABB drive and V280 unitronics, where v280 is the master, anyone can help me or suggest how I start? thanks, pd. I have done this type of communication but with other brands, this brand only cut I made the flight program without communication inputs and outputs only analog and digital.
  22. Hello all, I have a question about an Ethernet connection. I'm trying to connect multiple V570 PLCs to the existing network. I use the program Arkadi Samarov wrote to assign an IP address through DHCP. I would like to connect to the PLCs by using there Hostnames through a DDNS server, but when checking the DHCP table in my router it seems the PLCs don’t have Hostnames. I can’t seem to find an option to assign this to the PLCs. Is it possible to assign it or should I go with a static IP address. Thanks in advance, thanswijk
  23. Hello! I have problems with downloading the application to one of our V230. Also It doesn't connect with Remote Operator (RO) program. Strange thing is that VisiLogic can do Online Test and then it shows all the online parameters and also remote access can be used during online test. The problem stands in both way, wether I try to download or connect with RO through ethernet or through RS232 (COM1). I was able to download the aplication short time after restart of PLC, but it ended also with some kind of error. Although the PLC seams to work fine and seams that the modified program was downloaded (despite of occured error), I'm not able to download again. I put the pictures of the error messages also here. Does anyone have a clue what can be wrong? Jan
  24. Hi, I'm having trouble downloading my application to a new and clean V350-35-R34, it fails over both serial and ethernet. Loading Bin. Lib, Boot, OS and Sync RTC works fine. My UDC file contains the following, and I'm trying to execute using UniDownloader v. 4.1.02: Bin.Lib v. 2.1 (02) BOOT v. 2.1 (06) OS v. 3.0 (67) Sync. RTC Application As said, I'm able to download Bin.Lib, Boot and OS. I then do Sync RTC fine, but when trying to only execute the application item to the PLC it says Application failed. This happens during: Status: Downloading String Lib to PLC. The UDC file is 628kb big. This is creating big problems for me at the moment, as I need to be able to distribute this UDC with the new application to a lot of customers..on both old and new PLC's (upgrade/reinstall of application) Any ideas?
