  1. Hi, I have Jazz PLC JZ20-J-T40, and i have 6 Screens on it. I have downloaded my program successfully, and PLC has been working properly for a wery long time, (two months to be exact). After I turned OFF and ON my PLC, it didn't displayed screens I have on it, so I thought that I have burned it, because of power or something. I measured power supply, it was OK, so I connected Laptop to PLC. I have successfully conected to PLC, and went online. I have some MBs on plc that i change using plc tasters, tried that, it works just fine. Everything works properly, except PLC Display. U90 Ladder has an option to debug display online, so I tried that on my laptop, it shows displays as it should, but on PLC just blank screen. I can see that PLC display is glowing a little, it just doesen't show any text that it should show. I have tried to download again, nothing changed. I tried to update Operating System, it says it's up to date. Is there a way of fixing this? Best Regards, Nikola Ljubinkovic
  2. i so far finished my ladder programming in unitronics V1040 plc and created a webpage to use in raspberry pi to view the same HMI screen in my webpage at the same time whatever output i get from the Plc HMI. now i hv the problem is, how can i communicate plc and raspberry pi.can i connect the i/o and o/p of both plc and raspberry pi . is any coding ive to write in the raspberry pi terminal for the communicate with plc. please advice me.
  3. hello, i wonder if there is a vision PLC library for proteus 8 so i can draw my electrical wiring and if not, please if you have any idea let me know .. thank you
  4. Hi, I have Unitronics PLC V130-J-TR20 PLC, which is a master, and two Jazz JZ20-J-T40, which are slaves. I need two of the slave Jazz PLC's to communicate with master V130 PLC. I have made configuration in PLC Program for read and write, but it's not working properly. When i set bit for request to read PLC3 (MB100), it reads it normally. But, when i try to read PLC2, it reads same value that I have on PLC3, although Communication is OK with PLC2. I have read example project, and used it to configure communication between PLC's, like you can see in the images. Regardless of what I do, one of the PLC's is not working properly, communication says it's OK, but keeps reading values from other PLC. IP addresses are different, of course, and i have typed them correctly into the MODBUS IP Configuration, like in the image. On my Jazz PLC's I have done everything like Example project in U90 Ladder says. Is there a way of fixing this? Thankful Nikola Ljubinkovic

Hi, I have two Jazz JZ20-J-T40 PLC-s, and one V130-J-TR20 PLC. I am using zView SCADA. I tried to connect them via Ethernet by using switch, but I cannot use two different PLCs on this SCADA. Then i tried to connect them to SCADA via uniOPC, but communicating is just too slow. I have just one bit that goes from 0 to 1 in 0.5 seconds, and back to 0 in 0.5 (1 second pulse), just for testing, still it's too slow. It runs normally for like 2,5 seconds, and then just stops, and changes in 4-10 seconds, or just freezes for 2-3 minutes, and then changes. My PC Spec are not in the way of this, I am sure of that, i have tried it on my weakest and strongest laptop, still exactly the same results, too slow with just one bit for each of the PLCs, that is 3 bits total. Does anyone had the same problem, is there a way of fixing this? Regards Nikola Ljubinkovic
  6. Hi, I'm using Unitronics PLC JZ20-J-T40, and ZView SCADA. I have successfully downloaded my program into PLC, and tested communication via usb (Serial), and via Ethernet (MJ20-ET1). It's all working properly. Problem begins when i try to connect my PLC to scada PC. With USB everything is working normally, but it's not an option for me to work with usb connection. I want to work with Ethernet communication between PLC and SCADA. What should i do to make it work? Regards Nikola Ljubinkovic
  7. I've done some searching but have not found an answer to this particular problem yet. I have tried configuring my Unitronics PLC to send email, and have followed the instructions for initializing and connecting the socket connection to a gmx email host. However, I have noticed that when I telnet to the mail.gmx.com server through port 465 (the only port I can connect through), I get a connection for only about 20 seconds before it is 'closed by foreign host'. It seems like maybe the port is not correct? I have tried 25 (which does not let me connect) and 465 because I found those ports online. I think the same thing is happening in the ladder code, because i briefly get a successful indication of connection, but then it gets reset. Has anyone seen this issue before? I was under the impression that GMX was a validated email host to use with these PLCs, so am I doing something wrong?
  8. Hello! Another one topic PLC/E-mail. Unfortunately, I'm not able to copy with the problems. I use the ladder from Example (of course). In CMD I write "telnet pop.gmail.com 25" and I can see the protocol type used by the server. After that i tape "pin pop.gmail.com" and see the IP address of the server. The first change that I make in the ladder is IP in "TCP/IP - Tcp connect" block. The new IP is the same as IP address of the server. The second change is in the "E-mail" block. "From:" e-mail is Support@unitronics.com and the receiving e-mail is "..........gmail.com". When I press "connect" in HMI the system is able to connect. However, when I press "Send E-mail" there are two mistakes: "The server cannot receive data (DATA mode error)" and "From address format incorrect " I have tried many settings but non of them was workable. Please, give me an advise where might be the mistake!
  9. Hi, I have a customer that is looking to use a Unitronics PLC to add additional outputs to their existing system. The main system runs on a .net application, so the PLC would be mainly used to set/reset a MB or Output at a particular time. The response time needs to be pretty fast, likely a few milliseconds from PC send to output state change. Which communication method would be the fastest or would they be roughly the same? - PCOM - .NET driver - Custom protocol with short command sent from PC and received via FB protocol scan. Just getting a feel on how I should build the PLC communications class. Thanks,
  10. Hello, I'm quite new here and don't have much experience with unitronics. I started project for my self, where I use unitronics Samba solution/PLC + sensors. I use Unitronics Samba PLC device to manage my machine. Beside that I need to collect probs collected from sensors and export them to remote database. Can you help me and point out, how to take probs form Samba PLC? I would like to connect directly to Samba PLC and take probs from PLC (not raw probs from sensors) How do I connect to Samba PLC - Ethernet? RS 232? Which protocol deals with this best? Best Regards, Magic
  11. If you haven't checked out the Unitronics Youtube for awhile, you may want to check out our UniLogic Tech Tidbits Playlist. The most recent Tidbit shows you how to create your own, reusable HMI Custom Controls. After you create a control, you can drag and drop it from the Solution Explorer, export/import it between projects as .uluce files, or add it to the Library. You can also define tags that are local to a specific Custom Control, these tags will be exported/imported along with the control. It's all in the link below!

  13. Hello Is it possible to read one PLC (V130 in my case) with more than one UniOPC server software which are running in different computers? I have an application where V130 is read from one PC by UniOPC server and I need read same PLC with other UniOPC server located in other PC. All tags are identical. I installed UniOPC program to both PC and they both can read the PLC but not simultaneously. I can connect both UniOPC with PLC, but only firstly connected OPC can read tag values. Secondly connected OPC tags quality is //Uncertain, non-specific// and tag values are zeros. Both UniOPC sever have identical configuration. Is it in principle not possible to read one PLC with two UniOPC or I have problems with settings? Regards, Meelis

Programmers can also define tags that are local to a specific Custom Control; local tags are exported/imported along with the control. Other convenient features include an HMI email Configuration Widget, the ability to edit email accounts via UniApps as well as UniApps interface translations for Russian, Polish, and Chinese. To enjoy these as well as other additional features and enhancements, download it from http://unitronicsplc.com/software-unilogic/ U90 Ladder version, 6.6.24 + New Jazz® 2 We have also released a new U90 Ladder version, 6.6.24. This version brings you the option to create a download File (*.d90) without connecting to a physical PLC. You can then use the *.d90 file to create zipped project via UniDownloader Designer to be used in Unitronics' UniDownloader software utility (*.udc) This version also supports a new Jazz® 2 controller model, a compact, full-function PLC that comprises an excellent built-in I/O configuration, plus an integrated text display. The new model, JZ20-UA24, offers 15 inputs: 9 digital, 1 high-speed counter, 2 inputs that can be wired as analog or digital, and 2 analog inputs that can be wired as thermocouple or PT100 . The output configuration includes 5 relay, 2 transistor, and 2 analog outputs. Like all Jazz® 2 controllers, JZ20-UA24 brings you 48K (virtual) Ladder Logic memory, a built-in mini USB programming port, and is 30 times faster than Unitronics’ standard Jazz® controller, allowing industrial control processes to enjoy more power, speed and functionality at the same low price.
  16. I need to interface a Unistream with an Omron PLC. Specifically, the OMRON SYSMAC CJ2M CPU31. Omron requires an EDS file for all Ethernet/IP connections and a generic EDS file we found does not seem to work. The Unistream is configured as an adapter and the Omron is configured as the scanner. During testing, I did attempt to switch roles and have the Unistream as the Scanner and the Omron as the adapter, but neither configuration seemed to work. The error message in the Omron indicates a byte count issue; however, with the assistance of an Omron integrator, we confirmed that the number of bytes in and out of the Omron is correct.
  17. Hello, I am/was completely new to Unitronics hardware, and thereby UniStream by default LOL, until of 9:00am this morning, so please do not assume any level of knowledge specific to the device. 19. Greettings, I'm a Electrical Engineer from Venezuela currently developing an application using one of your PLC, a USP-156-B Unistream device,I was testing the behavior of the data table and data trend funtionalities and when booted to implement in my project, the PLC requested an SD card, I inserted an 8Gb Sandisk micro SDHC SD card and proceeded to manually reboot (turning the power down, and then back up). Now the PLC won't get past the black screen with the UniStream logo (I believe this is the boot up function) with or without the SD card. Is there a way to upload the firmware? or how do I solve this? I can't get into Uniapps.
  20. Hello, I am new to Unitronics and have just bought a SAMBA unit (SM43-J-R20) with the optional serial port (V100-17-RS4X) and I need some help with getting started. I need to read a load cell via RS232 from the optional port, but am having issues doing so. I've watched some webinars about MODBUS, but am not sure if this is what I need and if it is, what parameters I need to enter. I am using a Cooper Instruments load cell with a digital display. I found the following information in a PDF for the load cell: The output string is in the following format: <STX> <SIGN> <WEIGHT(7)> <STATUS> <ETX> Where STX: Start of transmission character (ASCII 02). ETX: End of transmission character (ASCII 03). SIGN: The sign of the weight reading (space for positive, dash (-) for negative). WEIGHT(7): A seven character string containing the current weight including the decimal point. If there is no decimal point, then the first character is a space. Leading zero blanking applies. STATUS: Provides information on the weight reading. The characters G/N/U/O/M/E represent Gross / Net / Underload / Overload / Motion / Error, respectively. On the PLC Info screen, I have the following information for COM 2: Protocol: MODBUS RS Type: RS232 Params: 9600 ,8,n,1 Silence: 3650us the Rx value is constantly incrementing, but under the Monitor screen, there is no value. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to Unitronics and don't know where to begin. Thank you for your time.
  21. New Application Story **** Starring Samba in the role of theater grip! **** People--high cool factor here ------------------------------------------------------ Compact, Cost-Effective Samba PLC+HMI Opens Creative Avenues for Local Theater! “Motion Control with Unitronics PLCs has allowed us the freedom to reach for new heights of visceral creativity while expanding our technical innovation in a fast and cost-effective manner”. Summary: The Eagle Theatre in Hammonton, New Jersey partnered with Unitronics’ distributor, Bayview Bearing and Supply, to introduce innovations to a regional theater. Using a Samba PLC with 3.5” color-touch HMI and onboard I/O, the theater implemented a simple motion control application for their set pieces. Since the initial installation, the Eagle Theatre has expanded the application, creating more complex moving sets that greatly enhance the mood and themes of their productions. Full story: The Eagle Theatre in Hammonton, New Jersey is South Jersey’s only year-round professional Equity theatre. They are dedicated not only to bringing great theater to the region, but also to bringing innovation to their productions. To achieve those goals, the theater decided to add moving elements to their sets for one of their productions. Three screens needed to descend at a consistent speed, but at different times. The team at the Eagle Theatre initially tried to use electric winch packages, but these were slow and too noisy to use during a performance. With only one week until the show opened, the theater reached out to Bayview Bearing and Supply, a Unitronics distributor, for help. Bayview Bearing was able to solve these issues by implementing a Samba all-in-one PLC with 3.5-inch color-touch HMI. They worked with Jared Smith, a contractor with Deerfield Electric, who built the panel and installed the unit. The Samba controlled Vacon 20 VFD’s (Variable Frequency Devices) and World Wide Electric Gear Motors in order to move the set pieces. Each of the moving pieces was assigned a virtual button on the Samba; these buttons raised and lowered the screens, while also displaying their current position. Not only did the new system work beautifully, Bayview Bearing was able to get it up and running with enough time for rehearsals with the new system before the show opened. Not only was this particular performance a success due to the Samba, working with PLC control has created new options for the Eagle Theatre moving forward. Ted Wioncek III, Co-Artistic Director at the theater, explains “motion control with Unitronics PLC’s has allowed us the freedom to reach for new heights of visceral creativity while expanding our technical innovation in a fast and cost effective manner.” In fact, the Eagle Theatre has already expanded the motion control application to other shows. For one production, the entire set shifted constantly, with the walls moving in and out independently of each other. A major theme of the show was misdirection, so the moving set was used to reinforce that theme within the physical space the characters interact with. As Ryan Mayer of Bayview Bearing explains, this isn’t a typical motion control application, “this is automation technology meeting the art community and producing fantastic results.” To learn more about Bayview Bearing and Supply, visit them online. To learn more about the Eagle Theatre, visit them online.
  22. Hello. I have a program that isn’t that large but is repeated multiple times for multiple devices of the same type. I wanted to make a UDFB were I would only have to pass in a struct of the device but because I have to use Negative and Positive Transition Contacts many time throughout the program then I have had to have each device in its one Region. Isn’t there a way to use PTC and NPC inside UDFBs? Regards
  23. I am from Mexico, I hope you could understand what I wrote. I Have a PLC+HMI Unistream 7". I plug in the PLC to HMI and connect the HMI to Power supply, afterwards, screen "initializing" appears and remainds on that screen, kept for hours. I have checked my wirings, PLC and the HMI mutiple times and i sure it´s all in right. I can´t acces to UniApps and upgrade the firmware. The connection PC-PLC is succesful, but the PLC needs upgrade firmware. I hope you can help me. Thank you
  24. Hi there, Does anyone have any specifications on the accuracy of the real-time clock in the UniStream PLCs? I am using one (a USP-070-B10) for an application that monitors a very slow-changing system, and so needs to be accurate (hopefully at least to the nearest second) over a number of consecutive days. Sometimes tests stretch into weeks. I recently (about four weeks ago, but I’m not absolutely sure) noticed the clock was way off and synchronised it with my computer clock (which is accurate and auto-updates, etc.). This time I checked and it was between 4 and 5 minutes out, so seems like it might be deviating by about a minute a week. This is a real problem when we need to match up data on this system with data on other logging systems – it should not be more than a second or so out at any time if we are to do that accurately. Also, is there any way to get the system to update with daylight savings time, so the clock does not need to be manually reset at these points? Thank you for the advice.
  25. Hi, I am wondering how to send two or more SDOs, one after the other. In attachment is a image of how I have been trying to do it. It awys just sends the first one in the network. I have tried putting them in series, parallel and in different rungs. I realize that the setup i have is not working out because, while the first one is sending then the "SDO in progress bit" goes high and then it skips the other one. Is there an easy way of doing this? Some thing that would trigger the second one to go of as soon as the first one is done.
