Need to test new project without losing current programI

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I'm new to the V350 platform but have been put on a project where I have to learn as I go.

I want to be able to test some new projects on a currently installed V350 without disturbing the installed program. In other words, how can I use my current OPLC for testing and development without losing the program that is currently on the unit. The program that is running was written by someone before me and I cannot upload it back to the PC to take a backup.

The goal is to rewrite the program from scratch with enhancements and then deploy it as the main application. However, during the development period I need to keep the currently installed application viable so that I can either put it back on the OPLC or have it start on a reboot. Is there a way to either backup the code so that i can redeploy every time between dev cycles? Or can I download projects to the V350 temporarily (ie. into memory only) to test, but have the main installed app come back on reboot.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
