Both, but mostly machine manufacturer. We both Sell and Rent the equipment, and install for new customers. Servicing over 400 and building 30-70 machines per year. Old equipment that comes back will typically get an upgrade with a Vision OPLCs but now with metrics and telemetry I am attempting to move the fleet to Unistream. We will do on-site integration when requested. Each piece of equipment has a localized OPLC and a remote OPLC both of which need to be capable of integration to the on-site plant. Also an update. It is not hands free I do need to run "BootP" on each URB-TCP(2) - or I will need to change defaults on all programs currently written and the software on each modem/router.

My true goal and why I was so excited about the release of URS-02LC-8, was that I could get away from downloading a separate visilogic program into an EX-RC1 when utilizing Unilogic OPLC. 90% of my applications deal with load cells and I love the notion of just handing all the techs a Jump drive being able to import the application without tethering to a PC. This is exactly what I had done for years with an SD card to a V350 tethered to an EX-A2X. Unfortunately I can never do that while utilizing the EX-RC1 tethered to a US7-B5-RA28, every one of them would need to pass through my hands to drop the program. I have a URB-TCP and URS-02LC-8 on the way. However after doing a bit with it on Unilogic program I am not convinced I will remain hands free. I fear I may need to run "BootP server" on each module, placing me no further ahead. I am hoping I am wrong about that, and I shall find out soon. I brought up the Visilogic change log because I'll never break free of it either. With hundreds of Vision OPLCs in the field and customers requesting custom concepts I keep up to date with both unitronics programming software. Now with UniCloud and "Routers" I may just step back and stick with V350 and V560 PLCs, if this method doesn't pan out. What worries me about this is I have no idea when unitronics will decide to discontinue the line.

I searched the knowledge base as well and all that comes up is UL listings.

I just found this in the Visilogic change log and got exited. I finally see the release of a unitronics branded load cell module compatible with Uni-Stream without using CanBus. Of course the project is already done, but all projects are just the start of an evolution. Since I only have two machines loose in the world with this hardware configuration I'd be more than happy to make the change now. So when can I get my hands on at a minimum the documentation for URS-02LC-8 ? I'd like it yesterday if possible.

So... It appears I could connect to the V350 using Modbus and send custom MQTT data to an already established broker. Took me a minute to figure this out but this is the best lead I've had so far. I will be trying this out. Thank you AlexUT.

I have done exactly that. We migrated to the Unistream Family. I must say I love it and all future machinery will be equipped with Unistream. However we have hundreds of V350s running in the field and it would be great if I could easily connect them all to my existing broker system with a simple off site software update. Replacing so many PLCs is costly. Not just the price of the hardware, but sending a tech ( likely me ) to all the sites to change out good hardware just isn't realistic. 1 to 3 PLCs per site spread all over the US and Canada. If anyone has successfully created a method to connect Vision Family hardware to an MQTT broker Please do share. Unfortunately as much as I have done and learned thanks to this Forum and Joe I feel this task is beyond something I can do on my own.

Very surprised this hasn't gotten more attention. Unclear if I could have survived with only one instance of Visilogic and the more complex my programs become the more I desire two instances of Unilogic. I say this fully knowing how easy it is to migrate items from one program to the next, but some times you just want to do some side by side comparisons. So will any traction be gained in this arena?

Same Problem at present using 1.28.26 US5-B10-RA28 I fixed it by not having the Tag: Link and the Action toggling the same coil. So my Action toggles a coil that sets and resets the Tag: Link It is a shame because it adds an unnecessary rungs in the ladder, but at least it is simple.

Your right. I am just over thinking it. Even more I like the idea of using a weight transmitter as opposed to the LC1. I was just spoiled I guess with with only needing to communicate between 2 unitronics PLC's as opposed to any other hardware. Thank you for the input.

The majority of my current applications involve Load Cells. I currently use V350 and/or V560 with an EX-A2X expansion adapter to an LC1/LC3. I originally used EX-RC1 but deviated from it and use exclusively EX-A2X because I can email and explain to any customer how to upload clones for any specialized changes I make to the V350 and V560. Since you need to be physically plugged into the EX-RC1 to do any upgrades its usefulness has its limits. So My question is what is the easiest way to utilize load cells if we do make the jump to Unistream line of PLCs? I'm really hoping my options are not limited to CanBus to EX-RC1. At least it is an option, but I would likely add more Analog I/O to the same location, which goes back to making changes a bit more difficult. I know there are other ways to upload a program to the EX-RC1 but Internet connection is not readily available at all machine locations, and having a guy on the other end of the phone with any amount of programming knowledge never happens, so the less I need to walk someone through how to use a computer the better. Plus the machinery moves and most plants don't want to take the time to plug the system into their router, let alone properly set up a network.

I just bought a new computer. I tried everything to install the newest version of Visilogics ( 9.8.65 build 0 at the time of this post ). This includes temporary turn off and eventual removal of pre-installed anti-virus software ( which I would have done sooner or later any how ). The hardware in my laptop is upgraded but I went from a 4 year old MSI laptop to a brand new MSI laptop both running windows 10 home edition and I had zero issues on my previous laptop. Final Solve is an old cure all. Install in windows safe mode. Hold Shift while you click reset in Windows 10. I never gave the program the opportunity to run standard. I use Windows 7 compatibility mode and Run as Admin. I know from previous experience this was the most stable way to run it on my old Windows 10 laptop so why deviate now. My original problem seemed to start the install but once past the initial unpacking screen the install window seemed to be non-existent. When looking through task manager it was visibly taking up memory but at zero CPU usage. I gave it just over 5 min before I killed it the first time, some may think that isn't enough time, but I promise you it is with the PC specs i'm running. Something in windows 10 was preventing the install from progressing and I was not sent a error message in any form. Even so I am willing to bet using safe mode will bypass the majority of, but not all issues listed in this forum string. Lastly: I did mess with user permissions in the install file prior to trying this, but safe mode without internet is very pliable. If need be you can change permissions once your in safe mode, but if you don't have to I wouldn't.

I have more than 20 units out in the field and producing more every day. They have been floating around for 1-2 years all with nearly identical programming. I recently had to swap out a unit for a customer because they turned on the V560 and saw nothing but red. Its the factory boot screen, only it looks broken. In an effort to keep things the same for over the phone troubleshooting I had only updated my visilogic program once and that was to 9.5.0. Due to the model number on this unit I know that 9.5.0 was used when the program and O/S were downloaded into the PLC. In an attempt to fix I first tried Boot Strap. Every combination of doing so has failed. ( Touch the screen then turn on or press and hold i and turn on ) It does nothing with exception of on occasion look more messed up. I did this with the CanBus removed and I also removed the snap-in I/O board ( V200-18-E2XB but I doubt this has any role in the problem ) I was hoping to find a way without connecting to a PC so in the event it ever happened again I would know what to tell a customer over the phone. After a frustrating 20 Min and another 2 hrs looking for a solution online here I am. I can see the PLC I can get the O/S information: O/S : 3.8(02) BOOT: 2.2(09) BinLib: 1-1.10(01) Factory Boot: 1.3 (07) Every which way I try it the O/S update fails. I even did update Visilogic to 9.7.9 with no change. I attempted to update the O/S at this point but failed. I then did them one at a time starting with Bin Lib then Boot then O/S. Again Fail at the O/S installation. The unit is currently sitting at : O/S : 3.8(02) BOOT: 2.2(19) BinLib: 1-1.10(01) Factory Boot: 1.3 (07) Running Win8 with a prolific USB-Serial ( my preferred way ) However I have also tried with Vista Pro Downgraded to XP with an integrated serial port with no change. ( I did not however update visilogic on it ) I will be more than happy to supply any information I may have left out ( its me so likely a lot ) Please help. Thank you.
