  1. I know...it is high on the wish list, and something that I hope we will one day be able to offer.
  2. That is because it was spectacular-- I am saving it all for my upcoming soap opera "A Technical Life"... Yes--I was joking with the 'he asked' bit. The truth is that while we were checking, it seemed that there was an easy way to overcome the issue with FBs...but, as often happens, it turned out to be more complicated than we thought. Still, we (meaning the R&D team) learned from the process, so we did benefit from it--and Damian got new FBs
  3. OK, I've got the answer--the current OS supports Fast Connect/Close, and adding the line to the ini file will expose the functions in the current VisiLogic version. I would be very interested in hearing if the functions are helpful in your application.
  4. Guys--hang on a little bit, please. He asked me Seriously, Damian wrote to us regarding a specific problem, and we developed specific functions. We did not release them with a version because they have not been fully tested by us, although Damian has--apparently--been using them. I am waiting for one of the OS cowboys to peek into the code and tell me if these functions are supported with the most recent OS, or if you have to use the specific OS that was released with those functions. (I checked: yes, the current OS does support them) As far as revealing them in VisiLogic: Disclaimer: Please note that these functions have not been fully tested, and that Unitronics bears no responsibility for their use. Simply open the OPLC.ini file, then add a row: 6300=1 That should do it. You will see the Fast Connect functions under Com>TCP/IP, under the Close: TCP function. Note: ‘Connect Within’ is a timeout value: the program scan stops until either: -the connection is made (and if it is made in 1 MICRO-Second, the scan will continue after 1 micro-Second) Or -the ‘Connect Within’ time has elapsed. You’ll want to monitor the relevant socket SB, of course. I'm afraid that is the extent of the information I have.
  5. Keith, you should be able to upload a program--please try again, and pm me if you have problems. There was a recent update of the forum platform and some resultant weird stuff happened... >If you find you are melting down the pliers to cast them in to the shape of a socket wrench then it has probably gone too far...< At that point, apply sledgehammer... Although I find some of the workarounds people come up with to be amazing.
  6. Joe--verbose descriptions? Technical writers eschew verbosity! We champion brevity! Seriously-- the description, when Direct is chosen, will point out that it is Integers...but regarding your second request, truly, we can't do it. Has to do with the way the dialog is constructed...sorry!
  7. Hey Joe: > -Add a field to the Struct Block dialog: UniCAN Send/Receive Block Size< Done >force the Description of the Block Length field of the UniCAN send block to say "Block Length". < Can't do it when the user selects Const, only when Direct is used...sorry...
  8. Joe, I saw this, and am taking it up with the appropriate people--thanks. Happy Sunday
  9. Joe, that is the best solution I know of. If anyone else has a better one, I’d like to see it myself

  11. Joe T. The burnt offering line almost killed me. That was Keyboard #8, I think... . Keith, have you tried using the Gallery, up in the top bar? That is really intended for pictures, the attachments are mainly intended for attaching programs. You should be able to create an album, and link form there. If you have any difficulties with that, contact me (and sorry for the lag, I'd already left for the weekend!)
  12. Hi guys! You have raised some interesting points; I'm forwarding them to The Decision Makers:) I'll report back on any interesting feedback.
  13. Let's see--I know about Hebrew, English, French, Bulgarian, Russian, Ladino..I'll ask Support if I 've forgotten something!
  14. BTW--for those who don't know, our Support Manager, Emil, is fluent in at least 6 languages that I know of, spanning three separate alphabets and language families; one of them is, in fact, Russian And yes--Joe is pretty cool
  15. The dude in the striped shirt? Definitely! His shirt is carefully coordinated with his glasses, and I'm sure his shoes and bag are as well. Now THAT'S the kind of precious attention to detail that customers appreciate.
  16. Hi guys:) I have been contacted by some people with great stories--but we need more, so keep them coming
  17. Have you: - Gone to battle a automated machine project with drawn sword--and won? - Done a complete system retrofit that would make your mama proud? - Finished a turnkey control application with a leftover budget so large that your bank is asking you for a loan? 21. Hi guys..sorry that this was not promptly answered. The VisiLogic navigation screen does one thing that Windows Vista does not...shows .emf files. We are fixing the ability to view the Windows Navigation screen.
  22. I suggest you start with the Help topic Program Sequencing. It is a good starting point
