It does NOT stop at the Max and Min values you specify.  If your program is going to possibly give readings that will overshoot you have to have Max and Min compares going on that store the max or min value if an overshoot has happened.  This is done directly after the linearisation in the ladder.

This is a confusing thing for first time linearisation users.  Pls read this entire topic:

As far as I know this hasn't been done yet. One for  @Cara Bereck Levy to ask?  .....Again.    I've always said I don't think it could be too hard, but I do know that the Vision system has limited "space" for mods.

    cheers, Aus

I'll check with the team and get back to you 🙂

@Cara Bereck Levy      Ebenezer's post here initially seemed to be in the wrong area, but I couldn't then decide a more valid location.  I'm wondering if with the introduction of the routers a new forum area needs to be started, dedicated to them.  I'm sure more and more questions will arise.

    cheers, Aus

@Aus, I'll look into it--I'll see what Support thinks, thanks for the heads-up 🙂

Kratmel's card.......I'm still gobsmacked when I see a TIF card with 512GB.  I point out to blase youngies how much separate stuff is actually crammed into that tiny space, and they still don't really seem that amazed.   How times change.

In the early 90's in Israel, many people used computers without hard disks--had to stick a big old floppy disk in there to use it....

I remember seeing a memory device similar to this at my first mentors workshop back in the mid '70's

It was an archaic thing at that point, but I seem to remember that the memory bank included inductor/cap/resistor circuits that "remembered" their last logic state, and transferred that with some sort of FIFO logic.

Crazy thinking back in those days, but we wouldn't be where we are without it....  😵

Now, what happens when you throw one of these in front of a young'un?

I still have my first TI-35 scientific calculator that I bought in the '70's....

    Slide rule!!!!

Regarding calculators--in the 70's, calculators existed in Brooklyn. We were allowed to use them, but they were expensive and many of us in high school did without. Those who had, shared them.

In my physics class, my classmate Heath invented a novel method of cheating--passing calculators with the number of  the question, getting it back with what he hoped was the right answer (no, I didn't participate--I preferred to fail, if fate would have it!).

(I still remember that teachers opening riff, as soon as everyone sat down on the very first day of class: 'if I drop a baby and a locomotive out of this here window, which is gonna hit the ground first?')

@Cara Bereck Levy  Note after my above post.  There are perhaps other answers above mine which might be saying the same thing as me, but I can't see them at present.   The forum is currently behaving oddly, as my answer I did 20 minutes ago has still not appeared for general perusal.   But if I'm online it is showing as being there and in the right hand precis column.  Very odd.  So perhaps this is also applying to other members' answers that have auto approval or needing mod approval.

    cheers, Aus

Hi Aus--apologies, we have just finished our spring holiday cycle here in Unitronics-land; I was not here last week.

The forum is externally hosted; there may have been some update  running or somesuch. Now, meaning today, I don't see anything out of place...

    Great thread, btw!

  6. I checked--there haven't been clusters of reported failures, so it does not appear that the problem lies with the controllers.

I am not sure why, but I had bad luck with the mini USB port on multiple units (V1210). After awhile they had stopped working and I have to use the rj11 port 1 or 2 with a converter cable. I don't know if it was static or something else.

I've experienced Windows 10 updates that have rendered the USB driver inoperative.

<OffTopicMiniRant>  Windows10! One of the updates killed the ability for me to use a headset microphone on my desktop PC. I spent a few hours trying to work out fixes, updated drivers...then gave up, Too much of a time sink, easier just to use another device (phone, tablet, laptop...) Very annoying, though.

Got it, I realized my problem.  This whole time the help file tabs sidebar had been slid over as to make it hidden.  I couldn't see search or index or contents or anything.  Been driving me mad trying to find anything.

Wow--that would make it unusable.  Because the Help viewer remembers its last setting, if the TOC pane was hidden, it remains hidden--and it is perfectly possible to do this accidentally, I've done that myself!

Seversean is correct that this System Bit is not mentioned anywhere in the Help file that I can find. @Cara Bereck Levy, can you address this?

Huh. My bad! You are right, not documented--I just shot off an email to the developers, and will fill you in when I get a reply

@Flex727,  thanks for pinging me on this!

@Seversean, thanks for raising the issue!
