  1. Thanks so much! I will check that out. I looked in the examples in visilogic, but hadn't found this site.
  2. Where I can I find this example? I'd appreciate it. Yes, I certainly understand your concern. But we are planning to provide static addresses from the DHCP server rather than on the plc itself.
  3. Good Day, From my experience, it looks like the V570 only supports static ip addressing. I was hoping to switch our to DHCP since they do not need a static ip for anything. But it doesn't look like the V570 supports DHCP. Is that correct or am I missing it?
  4. It sounds like it will be best to carry multiple ones in my backpack. Thanks for your help!
  5. Thanks. I appreciate your responses. But apparently the FTDIs don't work at all.
  6. I guess my biggest question is whether or not it needs to be a PL2302 or if the FTDI should be working and i have some issue outside of the usb to serial converter.
  7. Reading that prolific website down farther, it says that the PL2303HXA is not supported by Win10. That may be my issue. Since I am on Windows 10 and the device manager says these converters are PL2303HXA.
  8. I have tried to update the driver with that link but it acts the same way. Is the PL2302 the one that works best with Unitronics? Does it make sense that it won't communicate across the FTDI? see attached image of my device manager
  9. Hello, Just checking in what USB to serial converters you would recommend for connecting to Jazz. I have 2 Jazz processors here and I am unable to communicate with either of them. They are older models and only support serial via MJ20-PRG. I am using Unitronics serial cable p/n: MJ10-22-CS25. I get no errors in Device Manager when I plug in the USB-to-serial converter. It grabs Port 3. But if I set U90 ladder to Port 3, the communication still times out. I have several USB-to-Serial adapters that I have tried........I have several that are PL2303, but they all show up as "PHASED OUT SINCE 2012, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER". The one I am using is a FTDI. Could that be making the difference? I believe I have read or heard that Unitronics doesn't like the FTDI even if the driver is installed and the device is working properly. If so, I need to work at getting updated USB-Serial converters. Please advise.........any good USB-serial converters that you recommend?
  10. it doesnt seem there is any information in the help menu on what could be causing these issues
  11. I have been editing and adding to a Visilogic program written in the last version of Visilogic. (BTW. I finally did get Visilogic to install correctly) While working on the graphics, arranging the screens, I suddenly got an error. And it immediately crashed Visilogic. Now every time I open it, I get an error ( see attached) . I can get passed it, but I basically doesn't let me do anything on that hmi panel. It just crashes the software any time I try to do something. Pretty frustrating...............Any help? And I even am running as administrator! This software seems to have a lot of glitches.
  12. i am running on Windows 10. I download straight from the website and running as administrator makes no difference. I get the same error trying to install the older version.
  13. FYI it does not work to enter the same value. Unitronics ought a have a way to use the Equal function with SI31, yet display the user-changeable data as a Time on the HMI. It surely seems there oughta be a way to do.
  14. Having a lot of trouble with visilogic :( Updating to a new laptop and trying to get Visilogic installed on it. I go on Unitronics website to get the latest version. After it downloads, when I try to install I get this error. I tried downloading the previous version like my o ld laptop had on, and that one acts the same way. It acts like the file got corrupted, but I boot it right from my downloads. Please advise asap
  15. Can any one tell me if the RTC on a Samba SM70-J-R20 updates automatically when daylight savings time rolls around?
  16. Seeems pretty lame that the only way to do this is essentially a compare that the bit is on between two times. All I want is a positive transition when the RTC equals the time they have entered on the HMI. Where should I get my second time to add to the compare? Any advice? Also it seems weird if I have to use this indirect clock function.....that you have to use two consecutive MI's. .....
  17. Hello All, I am looking for a little help on the best way to program this. Using a Samba and Visilogic. The job is I need to be able to enter a time on the HMI and when that time comes, certain functions happen. To get the easiest time look on the HMI, I used Variable: Time Functions, set it to Hour(CT) so it would display in HH:MM. That works fine and beautiful, but I couldn't figure out how to use that number in my program. I have it linked to MI5. I was hoping to do a compare with SI31, but they seem to be two different data types. Can someone show me the right way to do this? Basically I want them to be able to type any time on the screen (18:00, for example) and when system time hits 6:00 pm, bit turns on. Thanks in advance for helping, as I have done little programing with time functions before.
  18. thanks. After I followed all the steps, now it displays correctly!!
  19. I have a Samba here that was one of the originial operating systems. I have upgraded my visilogic since then and now when I went to make a few changes, it required me to upgrade the OS of the Samba before downloading. But now, in the HMI, I can see all the buttons and everything operates correctly and as it should, but the buttons have lost their labels. None of the buttons display the text on the button anymore. Through remote access off my PC, it displays correctly, but not on the actual HMI.
