  1. It is in fact possible to have multiple instances of VisiLogic open, but you still will not be able to copy and past between them. For what was asked about copy/paste, importing/exporting subroutines is the best solution.

However-- To have multiple instances of VisiLogic, one needs to copy the folder "Unitronics VisiLogic_C" from "C:\Program Files\Unitronics" and paste that copy somewhere else. You can then open up the file "VisiLogic.exe" from "Unitronics VisiLogic_C\Main" inside each separate folder. (The typical limitation is that only a single "VisiLogic.exe" can be opened at a time, but having a copied folder "tricks" and allows this.

  2. Typically with a SCADA software you would use either the OPC option or the Modbus option to interface with our PLC.

If using the OPC option you need to setup and run our UniOPC Server in conjunction with the SCADA software.

If using the modbus option you will just need to setup our controller to be a modbus slave.

Generally speaking, the modbus option is easier and more reliable.

I can recommend you watch our webinar on modbus which also includes example applications.

  3. Please close VisiLogic and extract the attached file.

Double click it and make sure that you receive the following message:

    gallery_9_14_13952.png

    Now go to C:\Program Files\Unitronics\Unitronics VisiLogic_C\Data\HW Cfg

Make sure that there is a file called IO-AI1X-AO3X.ini

Make sure that IO-AI1X-AO3X is listed in ElementsList.ini under the expansion I/O section C:\Program Files\Unitronics\Unitronics VisiLogic_C\Data\HW Cfg\Elements List

Now open VisiLogic and choose the PLC model and verify the expansion module is available:

Please let us know if it helps!

    Enable AI1X_A03X.ZIP

  4. The enhanced web server works fine on the V1040, I have tried it myself.

It's normal to see those warnings you mentioned, since this project was written 3 years ago in VisiLogic 7.0 where there was a different compiler.

These messages are just warnings, and the application will still work just fine.

It's my suspicion that the SD card is not actually being recognized by the PLC.

If you go into information mode --> SD --> does it say "No SD card!!!" ?

    Please follow the instructions/notes below:

    Format the SD Card:

    • It is necessary to format the SD card using Unitronics SD Card Suite.
    • These tools are available for download free of charge from our website:
    • www.unitronics.com --> support --> downloads --> Unitronics SD Card Suite: free download
    • The SD Card Formatter is an available option under the “Tools” program of the suite.
    • Make sure to select the “Format Drive using Windows” option first.
    • After, uncheck the box and format again.
    • If you experience problems with the SD card being recognized by the PLC, see notes below:

    NOTES:

    1. Built-in laptop card readers tend to cause problems, therefore external USB to SD adapters are recommended.
    2. In certain cases, using the Panasonic formatting tool below first, then using Unitronics tools after can also help.

  5. Thanks for your inquiry.

    Please delete the file “Current_OPLC.udb” from “C:\Program Files\Unitronics\Unitronics VisiLogic_C\Data\DB”

Then try to run VisiLogic again.

If after deleting the file the error still occurs, please reinstall VisiLogic as follow:

For XP please do the following:

    • Backup your application files.

    • Uninstall VisiLogic.

    • Erase the “Unitronics” folder from- C:\Program Files

    • Erase the “Unitronics” folder from- C:\Program Files\Common Files.

    • Reboot the PC.

    • Install VisiLogic again.

For Vista please do the following:

    • Backup your application files.

    • Uninstall VisiLogic.

    • Erase the “Unitronics” folder from- C:\Program Files

    • Erase the “Unitronics” folder from- C:\Program Files\Common Files.

    • In addition deleted the following directory that has been created by Vista.(first in folder option- view, enable show hidden file and folder)

    • C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Unitronics\Unitronics VisiLogic_C ( please replace “XXX” with your user name)

    • Reboot the PC.

    • Install VisiLogic again.

Please let us know if it helped.

  6. When using the Advanced Web Server it is required to start with the template provided on our website.

It contains locked subroutines (Intellectual Property) which cannot be copied or exported.

www.unitronics.com --> support --> plc tools and applications

That being said, from within the template project file you can still view the operands in use.

Select the operands tab on the bottom left, and then double click the "use" header to sort all checked for use.

  7. Please try to place the controller into bootstrap mode and use the standard update wizard again, being certain to use the max baud rate of 115,200 and physical port 1 of the PLC.

    To Enter Bootstrap Mode:

    • With the power to the PLC turned off, hold your finger down on the touch screen and plug the power in.
    • With your finger still pressed down count for five seconds, then release and tap the screen twice.

NOTE: You can also first place the extracted .UOS file (zip attached) into the folder directory "Program Files\Unitronics\Unitronics VisiLogic_C\Data\Os Vision\V570\OS" before trying

    VCO00300306_V570.zip

  8. Please ensure you are using the latest firmware files from our server.

From the help menu: Check For Updates --> Operating System

At the time of this post, the most current versions are as follows:

    OS: 3.3(03)

    Boot: 2.2(05)

    Bin: 1.10(00)

Please try installing manually each portion of the firmware.

You should be using physical port 1 of the PLC and also the max baud rate of 115,200.

From the PLC System Upgrade Wizard you can select "advanced".

You will need to install first just the Bin, then just the Boot, then just the OS.

When it asks if you would like to send plc run command, select no each time.

    med_gallery_9_14_37044.png

Press finish after each individual firmware process completes

    gallery_9_14_7943.png

Select No each time except for last after OS
