OPLC V1040 is used for control Lenze 8400 Highline servo drive. Position of vertically moved linear axis is measured by servo drive encoder and translated to the panel via CANopen. Drive use his own logic for continuous UP - DOWN move changeover. Now only START and STOP command sended to the drive via CANopen. AXIS is connected with 500kBps speed and moved with 0.8m/s max speed. I need to build programmed limit switch (PLS) for control machine valves depending of axis position. It must be switched separately. PLS in UP and DOWN move is different. Now i have 32bit absolute axi

Hello, I have an application running at one of my customers, which there is a V1040 PLC communicating via Canbus with 7 EX-RC1 nodes of which two modules have been installed recently. Each EX-RC1 has a couple of expansion modules connected to it and exchange digital and/or analog data with the PLC. I have followed all the instructions on how to install and configure all the devices, and my application was working fine with 5 EX-RC1 nodes. The problem is, when I installed the others two nodes, my application started behaving strangely: The data (only MI's) coming f

I want to create an alarm list in my HMI. I have created the alarm group and it shows the alarm, but I don't want to access the List of alarms that Unitronics gives by default, I want to see a quick list in my HMI of active or unrecognized alarms using a List Text or some better alternative. If there is no way to display in your own list, I would like to know how to display the alarm list automatically when an alarm is activated. I am using a Unitronics V1040 in Visilogic 9.8.79 Sorry my language is Spanish and this was translated

I have multiple devices such as printers(2) and scanners(2) that I want to communicate to using only 1 COM port in V1040 PLC. Printers and scanners support RS232/RS485 protocols. Can someone suggest on how can I achieve this? I looked at options with Modbus protocols, but I didn't understand how can I assign network id's to my printers and scanners. If I am required to have any additional hardware, please suggest.

Hello everybody, I've got a question about Unitronics with CANopen. I am doing an internship and have my own project here. It's a Foil test installation with an extruder. Now I have 2 servo controllers (CDE3004) and I want them to communicate with my Unitronics V1040. But I have a little bit trouble understanding the CANopen configuration. The idea is that I can read the parameters from the servo controllers. For instance the RPM, Torque, Power and Errors/Warnings. And that I can control them from 0 to 100% I also found some information concerning the servo controllers; Inf

Working today with a V1040, I found something I was not aware of; complex HMI screens use a tremendous amount of scan time. I have placed 100 very small bar graphs on the screen with 100 very small bianary objects to create a graphic display of a process control profile. Whenever this screen is active the scan time will increase from 2 ms to 10 ms and this is not good for my application. I am trying to control a rather fast process with 100 profile points via analog output and 10ms is on the edge of non-functionality. Is there a way to slow the refresh rate on this particulat HMI screen, s

Hi, I have a problem with ethernet-connection, the PLC is V1040 with V200-19-ET1 -ethernet card. I've been using ethernet-connection with Samba (Modbus TCP connection to SCADA software) and it worked fine! The problem is, that when I plug ethernet cable from v1040 to ethernet switch, switch seems to have no activity. Not even Link/act -leds doesn't turn on. When I keep touch screen pressed and enter setup, it show MAC address and IP of ET1, so PLC recognizes that there's ethernet card installed. I've been trying another PLC and another V200-19-ET1, different ethernet switch, di

Good day to everyone! Got an issue trying connect to v1040-t20b via modbus serial. I'm initiating data exchange through usb port (and starting to realize that, eventually, there is no any response from Uni, 'cause com1 supports only PCOM). Than i looked through info mode menu: com1 - pcom, com2 - pcom, com3 - modbus. And at the side panel there are port1 and port2 only. So, there is no such as 'port3' or... com3. How can i configure usb port to recognize modbus commands?

Hi! Is there any ideas how V1040 PLC can communicate through TCP/IP network with SCADA software using the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol? For example the SCADA must have access to read 20MI-s from V1040. Is the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol supported?

As has been noted elsewhere... Protective Lexan Covers are Now Available for All Vision Controllers. Even though the Unitronics Vision controllers are very economical, there’s no sense damaging them when you can easily apply a durable protective cover. We now offer a self-adhesive Lexan protective film custom cut for each Vision controller from Unitronics. This includes the V130, V350, V280, V290, V530, V560, V570, V1040and V1210. These protective covers are resistant to the following chemicals: Acetone, Methylene Chloride, Isopropyl Alcohol, Ethyl Acetate, Gasoline, Diesel Fuel, Coffee

Wow, I can't tell you how eager I am to get my hands on the new products coming our way from Unitronics. I've been biting my tongue not mentioning them for a couple months so that Unitronics could release the information on their timetable but...Both products were displayed at the PackExpo convention in Chicago earlier this month and Jas is blabbing about them over on the Forum. So I guess it's safe for me to reveal my enthusiasm. There could be more than what I know about but I'm told these three things are close: 10.4" Vision OPLC with 16-bit color. This is the V1040. 5.7" Vision OPLC with

Having analyzed our 2010 sales, looking particularly at areas of dynamic growth, we are increasing our inventory of Unitronics products. The increases will be seen mainly in the Vision Series of OPLCs but Snap I/O modules and Expansion I/O modules will also be increased. 2010 was a great year for us, in no small part due to the growth we saw in Unitronics sales. This is nice to see because it comes as a direct result of the strategy of increasing our presence on the web and emphasizing the quality, features and value of the Unitronics products. The control system design and electrical control
