V700 LOSES THE PROGRAM AFTER RESTART

Recommended Posts

Hello

I am downloading the program to the hmi and it works fine but after i restart it I get this screen in the photo. I ve tried a simple download and burned download also.

The hmi is brand new and the battery as well. I have tried it and to a second one but I get the same thing.

Do you test battery voltage? New battery voltage must be approx 3.2V. Please check via Visiologic SB8. If SB8=1 and  battery voltage above 3V - PLC must be replaced by distributor.

P.S. Please set time in PLC  via Visilogic Communication menu. Restart PLC = check RTC for present time. I see may 2022 on image.

As well, ensure you have read Help about downloading.  If the battery is ok and you still have failure, you could perhaps see  if saving it permanently to the PLC works.

If you want the PLC to retain the program in flash, you need to at least be doing the following:

Read help to fully understand all the differences.

Battery voltage 3.3V

Download

Download All&Burn

Set time and date from pc

I will try the SB8.

In one of the hmi’s that I tried to load the program, update of the O.S was needed but not in the second one.
It’s a little bit weird that both of them have the same issue, so I think there’s something wrong with the downloading procedure.

Do I need the latest version of Visilogic maybe?

Sorry, I missed that you had already said "burned".

re Latest version, updating might  upset an existing program's operation.  I'd stick with the version you made your project on, until you iron out what your issue is.

In the bottom left of the Visilogic window you can usually see progress through the download.  Is this actually happening?  It shows the type of connection, name of unit, and % progress etc.

How are you doing the connection?    Cables DO fail for no reason.  If serial, on the PC are you using a usb converter or a native com port? And if serial have you tried another cable and adapter?

cheers, Aus

Serial connection through micro usb cable.

I downloaded the same program from the same pc to an old hmi V700 that I have in my test bench that is more than 5 years old and is working fine.
I believe there’s a conflict between the program version and the o/s of the screen.

Visilogic version now: 9.9.00

Program creation version: 9:8:90

Latest saved version:9:8:96

O/S version: 4.12 (38)

For the experiment, I used a new V700 out of the box.

Using the STOP - DOWNLOAD - RESET option, I downloaded an example from Visilogic 9.8.65. After turning off the power - everything is OK, the project remained in memory.

I took out the battery and made sure that the project was lost.

I uploaded the project with the DOWNLOAD ALL and BURN option. I took out, waited and put back the battery - the project remained in place.

I took out the battery and after waiting  - turned on the panel - the project is in place.

So we can conclude that something is wrong  with your panels and you should contact the distributor.

P.S. For the test, I recommend using the stable version 9.8.65 and the firmware from this version.  It is also interesting how SB8 behaves.

However, I suspect that your new panels may have a newer hardware version than mine new

and 9.8.65 may not support it (but that's just my guess).
