Steven Ang Posted September 7 Report Posted September 7 Hi All, I am new to this Unitronics PLC after downloading the backup PLC program to new PLC. PLC show in idle mode, how to change it to "Run" mode. My current PLC when turn on it will go straight to launch it program. Can anyone give me some guidance how to solve these issues.
MVP 2023 kratmel Posted September 7 MVP 2023 Report Posted September 7 Moved... Please read this topic and add to program set password rung. If any problems - contact to support@unitronics.com
Steven Ang Posted September 8 Author Report Posted September 8 Hi kratmel, Am I doing correctly, very new to this PLC and this software. I had been playing it for last few days. Trying to add a line to it as all of you mentioned. Thanks God, managed to find it command and created a Net. Did I write it wrongly. Please give me some advice and guidance.
MVP 2023 Joe Tauser Posted September 8 MVP 2023 Report Posted September 8 Rather than assigning a powerup value to SI 253 and copying it itself, try using the official "Set Info Password" block from an MI that has a powerup value- Joe T.
Steven Ang Posted September 8 Author Report Posted September 8 Hi Joe, Due to MB500 was assigned for other use, can I assign it to other empty MB. I had assigned it to MB1021, any other things I needed to do after that. Do I need to key in any password whenever I turn on PLC ? Thanks and Regards
MVP 2023 Joe Tauser Posted September 9 MVP 2023 Report Posted September 9 Any MB will do, as will any MI. That's just an example picture. No, you don't need to enter a password to start the PLC. The password is for when you go into Info Mode, which is accessed by holding the touch screen. Joe T.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted September 9 MVP 2023 Report Posted September 9 And apparently, going on other info becoming known, the password must be 4 different digits ie 1234 ok 1133 not ok
MVP 2023 Flex727 Posted September 9 MVP 2023 Report Posted September 9 11 hours ago, Ausman said: the password must be 4 different digits ie 1234 ok 1133 not ok Is this true? I thought it couldn't be 4 of the same, not that all 4 must be different. I'll test this today when I get a chance.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted September 9 MVP 2023 Report Posted September 9 That's why I said "apparently, going on other info becoming known"....... This bit of info arrived from the creators a little while ago in private messaging: You are no longer able to have the info mode password be the same number 4 times, for example "1111" or "2222" ect. It must now be a combination of 4 numbers. I have not tested it as yet, so Flex, please do so. If it is true, it goes a long way to explaining why some users have had no issues, because they already use the "combination" as part of their overall security strategy. Other examples we've seen where users have issues, we have seen some repeated digits. Lastly, I think that an "incorrect" info mode password creating stop conditions on boot seems a bit of overkill, given what info does. cheers, Aus
Steven Ang Posted September 14 Author Report Posted September 14 Hi Guys, Thanks for the guidance, managed to get PLC in running mode. I have not hook up to my current machine to test under all function. Will post if all went well after hook up to test actual running. Thanks and Best Regards Shalom (Peace)
