Loading a program via a USB memory stick

Recommended Posts

Hi,
loading a program via a USB memory stick can be done in the next manner:

#1 - From UniLogic download the application to a USB stick

#2 - Connect it to your UniStream and go to UniApps -> System -> Upgrade -> User App Upgrade and press 'Import Application':

Regarding your other question, online program edits (content of a data tag for example) can be done by connecting UniLogic to your UniStream (USB / Ethernet) and pressing 'online' (when your application is identical in both UniStream & UniLogic) like so:

Hi Gary, Noam,

You can load a Program via a USB Stick by navigating to Download > Export project to USB storage, as Noam suggested.

Using UniLogic, a user can view live data in the controller using the Online mode. However, online edits to the program are not available in this mode. The edits must be made offline and downloaded.

Dan.

Is there anything special about the USB export option? The reason I ask is I'm in the process of doing firmware updates that require the program to  be re-downloaded. The problem is since Unilogic can only run 1 instance per computer, I'm running my upgraded project version on a virtual machine thus no USB inputs. I could virtualize the USB input from my host machine, but this is on a corporate computer and getting the access rights to this is untenable. Can I not just save the ulpr file manually onto the stick and dump it that way? Or is that not possible?

Quoting myself here, I have learned that yes there are indeed special characteristics of the USB export function. This is solely based on my attempts to export out of an existing controller onto a USB and observing the file structure. It is vastly different than just a ulpr file. Everything seems to be packaged quite separately in the USB export dump, and the configurations seem to be split into many files and folders of varying types. It doesn't even appear that I can back into these files by exporting individual components out of unilogic either because the file structure is so different. So it appears I'll be forced to install the software I need onto a different laptop so I can create this file.
