DanielRyan
I have downloaded the uniLogic program from the website but when starting a new project, the Vision350 product is not listed. I was wondering which should I select in order to not have problems when connecting the plc to the computer. PS: I am new to this software and hardware but am required to use it for a project. Do you guys have any vision350 specific tutorials aside from the general ones found on the website.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted October 3, 2018 MVP 2023 Report Share Posted October 3, 2018 Hi Daniel, you have downloaded the incorrect program. Unilogic is for a totally different species of plc from Unitronics. What you are wanting is Visilogic, where you will find lots of information on how to use the 350 within the Help files and examples. You can get the latest (non-beta) version here: https://unitronicsplc.com/Download/SoftwareVersions/Visilogic/VisiLogic_9_8_65.exe. To be sure of correct installation, run the .exe as administrator by using right click. (FYI somewhere in the last few releases I think the need to manually run as admin has been eliminated, but I'm not sure what one hence me mentioning it, and it won't hurt anything to trigger it manually anyway. Along the same lines you have to find the installed .exe and set it to run as admin as well, but again, in theory the install now does this itself.) cheers, Aus

The V350 is programmed in the same identical way as all the Unitronics Vision PLCs (model numbers start with V). There are also example programs that come with your VisiLogic installation. Take a look at those. There are also a number of YouTube training videos. Give those a watch. If you have specific questions after making attempts on your own, come back here and ask. You are welcome to post any code you've developed and ask specific questions about it that you may have.
DanielRyan
Thank you guys for your replies. I was able to download the correct program and watched the videos on YouTube. Is there a separate software to download in order to use the online HMI so that I cant check my program without having the physical PLC/HMI with me? Also I have not been able to correctly wire my Omron e3x-hd sensor to the PLC. The project I am currently working on is using the PLC/HMI to use 2 sensors to track poker chips on a conveyor belt as they pass by based on color and poker chips that have holes in the center and chips that do not. It is a sorting project that will be used for a display room. I am having trouble deciding how to program this, my best though was to put two arrays, one for each sensor which will allow me to track the amount of each chip etc.

DanielRyan
I do have the PLC, but I watched YouTube videos where they would run their program on a digital HMI. I know I wont get the sensor readings, but I figured I could run the program to make sure things are working correctly.
MVP 2023 Flex727 Posted January 30, 2019 MVP 2023 Report Share Posted January 30, 2019 I think what you were seeing was Remote Access which is built into VisiLogic. It requires a physical PLC connected to your PC.
DanielRyan
Okay, makes sense. Thank you again.
