MVP 2023 Joe Tauser Posted June 20, 2020 MVP 2023 Report Posted June 20, 2020 @Cara Bereck Levy- Flex has brought this up before. I'm loading several V700s this afternoon with an identical and somewhat complex program. I start the download, and then it stops several times asking me a question. If I'm not looking at the screen and answer the question quickly enough, when I do answer it the download tries to resume but I get a communication timeout and I have to start all over. Ask the Creators if a "Bypass Confirmations" option can be added to the download sequence or at least if they can trigger the audible Windows Notification sound when the question dialog pops up. Joe T.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted June 22, 2020 MVP 2023 Report Posted June 22, 2020 Hi Joe, I'm assuming these stops/questions relate to things NOT covered by all the various options under Project/Properties? cheers, Aus
MVP 2023 Joe Tauser Posted June 23, 2020 Author MVP 2023 Report Posted June 23, 2020 I totally forgot about that section, although when I look at it now I have "Timers values" checked and it still asked me. I'll do a more thorough analysis the next time I do this, which will be soon. Thanks for pointing it out. I still want the audio notifier. Then my computer can play this when it pauses.... Shrek repeat Joe T.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted June 24, 2020 MVP 2023 Report Posted June 24, 2020 Or some variations out of this one...."have we finished yet?" : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ_x_1N6B20 1:40 is one of my favourite bits in the entire series. cheers, Aus

I'll check--but I think this is related to an ancient Installshield sequence, which we are loathe to touch for VisiLogic. That particular architecture is Rube Goldberg at his finest, we managed to stuff that *couldn't* be done, and keep it pretty solid, all things considered.

I'm looking forward to watching the classic Disneys, Looney toons, etc with my grandkids - and some of the newer ones, like Shrek 🙂
MVP 2023 Joe Tauser Posted July 8, 2020 Author MVP 2023 Report Posted July 8, 2020 OK, so I've done some further testing. Here's my Project Properties dialog Messages tab- So it should run the download without delay. Or not. @Saragani - comments? If this is how it is and it's a royal pain on the Creators end to address the discrepancy, I get it. To me it's just a nuisance. Joe T.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted July 8, 2020 MVP 2023 Report Posted July 8, 2020 Yep, it's almost as if it's written by M$oft programmers! They are the absolute specialists at double triple negatives. cheers, Aus
John_R Posted July 8, 2020 Report Posted July 8, 2020 or maybe it's reverse logic and you are supposed to uncheck it if you don't want the prompt?? 🙃 Did you try that Joe?

Thank you all for pointing out that particular squirrel - looking at the directions seeing what I wanted to see. Seriously. As I often tell other people - "Slow down, Tex!" Joe T.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted July 9, 2020 MVP 2023 Report Posted July 9, 2020 Joe...you've got the SEE-virus. 😷 Sorry, couldn't let that one go un-posted. It is a dumb method but very common and VERY annoying. After all....they are TICKS which generally mean YES. cheers, Aus
