[SM43-J-RA22 and MODBUS connection]

Thanks everyone for the input, i got some adapters and will do some field testing. By the way, i found a RJ11 expand card for this PLC, it can be used for some kind of communication with a PC? I only used those on dial up modem connection long time ago.

[SM43-J-RA22 and MODBUS connection]

Hi everyone!

      First, im asking here after quite a research over this topic, but couldn't find anything solid so far, sorry if i missed any other topic about it.

      I got access to a Unitronics PLC SM43-J-RA22 that has no Ethernet port on it, so i wonder if i can use MODBUS connection over the Mini USB port that comes with it, or if i can use an USB to Serial adapter to access it over internet, the end goal is to use in a process that will alarm an user (by sms or email) after a certain event, and to be able to access it HMI remotely. What i did so far is to keep connected to a PC using the Mini USB, then use the Remote Operator on it, so i could access the PC remotely and control the HMI from there, but i don't think the alarms would work in the mode.  There are other possibitilies other than what i wrote here so far?

    I appreciate any input about this.

I was reading some topics at this forum and i saw something about a way to connect an unitronic PLC to internet and have remote access using the current IP address of the modem and the port configured at the PLC? Does that proceed? IF it does, the port configuration is set on the Web Server Menu (like below)?

So, can i put something on the ladder code, while watching it on the run, so i can see the elapsed time? Like something to see the "current" property? Or i can only put that property on the HMI?

Hi 

I got a contract to install a unitronic PLC recently and i'm loving this hardware, very easy in so many ways, but i got a question that i couldn't find the anwser on older topics.

Since i'm not at the site of the installed PLC, i can't really test the ladder code, so i'm trying to get everything ready to save time there. One thing that i couldn't find is, there is a way to see the timers countdown when the code are running with the PLC? Last time that i was there, i could just see when the timer activate, but couldn't find where i could look it's countdown.
