  1. Have 3 separate test stands that are Unitronics USP-156-B10 that are not on a network. Would like to see about sending data from the Unitronics to 1 Allen Bradley PLC. Would this be feasible? Thanks
  2. Joe T. Thanks for your help and yes IT makes things difficult with all their updates. It is nice to be able to work on them as at times they have issues and often ask for changes. For now, I just make changes at my desk with the HMI and then download when I get to the field. On a different test stand I just stay away from bringing up the HMI. I did get the dripping sarcasm and you are right.
  3. This is already being done by a server developed by the controls engineer to get the data from the PLC. It reads it in bytes and when it is finished collecting the data, we have to save it to a text file. From the text file, it is copied from to Excel and filtered. From the Excel Filtered, it is copied to a different text file for data import. An excel template is saved as the name of the filtered text file and then import the data from text in excel. Then from the excel file on the PC, we put it on a share drive.
  4. Joe T. Thank you and this sounds like it may be the issue. When docked using the LAN connection and has 2 monitors with one monitor being the laptop. When undocked, the laptop is in the field and wifi connection. If you go to a HMI screen, that is when things start to lock up. As for worked before on the laptop by itself, I would assume it has. However, I came on board and had issues with the installation of Visilogic. Once ran as admin and the controls engineer put me in for permissions, it worked correctly docked. I went to work on a stand using the laptop, I inadvertently looked
  5. Thank you for your reply Robin P. The process you mentioned I have not thought of and seems to be worth looking into. My background has been mainly Allen Bradley ControlLogix as a PLC programmer. In the facility that I am located, the air test stands are Unilogic and other stands are Visilogic. The Unitronic platform is new to me, but am learning it. I would like examples for this process if possible.
  6. Read the FTP process and compared to the email process and yes I see that the FTP process is easier and cleaner.
  7. Aus, You are correct with the way it works. When at the desk, it is using the net connection on the docking station. Out in the field, it uses wifi as I am not plugged in anywhere to a network connection. We have a few V570 on the floor that the ethernet port is connected to a wifi and if a little out of range, an error occurs. That is a different story. I did not think about the possibility of the issue being with the wifi as I am directly plugged in to the PLC. I will try using the ethernet connection next time I am on the floor and then try editing. Thanks
  8. I will definitely make note of this. I get the .cvs file but not familiar with FTP term. Would like to send this file on a SD card to a network share drive. Currently we have to use the server application on this computer and reads the results. Then we take this data and copy it to a text file. From this text file, it is sorted and put on a test result template. From there I manually move the excel file to the share drive. This seems to be a cumbersome task and was requested to find a way to put the data from the Unitronics to a network share drive. Is it possible to just auto send the r
  9. I became familiar with the term FTP and I do not have the capabilities and I am not the one that writes the code. Would it be possible to have the PLC write the files to a SD card periodically and send the .csv files to an email address providing that it can automatically send email? Thanks
  10. Yes, right click on install file and selected Run As Administrator
