I think he meant the compile error regarding SB 168 was solved.

He mentioned trends which IIRC has an activating bit in the trend definition. @Dermie, just Set MB 51 in Power-Up and you'll be fine, though there's nothing really wrong with the way you did it (though you don't need the SB 1 there - you are allowed to just hang a coil off the left rail). You might also check to see if an SB is allowed in the trend definition and just use SB 1 there. VisiLogic doesn't allow SBs everywhere it allows MBs though.

I have tested the download today and it worked with out a problem. I extended the time out time to 4 sec, increased retry’s to 12, ensured no remote access from mobile  and and changed the sb168. The plc now has a copy of the software burnt in flash. Thank you for you help with this it is really appreciated.

  2. SM-J-RA22 controller When I connection via remote app in iPhone I get a red screen when trying to change a variable. My iPad and another persons phone does not do this. I have checked all devices have latest version of remote app. I have attached the screen shots of each. On the red screen the number pad does work if you can Rembrandt the location of the keys.

If I understand this properly, you can do a regular download but not a download and burn.

If you can download, your communication is OK.  I would start looking at other possibilities.

Is your power supply nice and solid at about 24 VDC?
It is possible that the FLASH in your unit has gone glitchy.  Do you have a spare unit to try this out on?

    Joe T.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will review power supply. I don’t have a spare unit. I will be testing this download again today.

Dermie, you obviously do not know about power up values.  Please look them up in Help.  You are setting 168 the wrong way.   Whether this is the reason for your issue I don't know.

Same thing for rung 3, if you want MB51 always on, you don't need SB1.

Not being rude here, and perhaps you are used to other programs, but you need to learn some basic things about how Visilogic works.

    cheers, Aus

    Hi Ausman

thank you for your feedback, I haven’t programmed many plcs and this is my first Unitronics. I do appreciate your advise and do not consider it rude.

I have the power up value for SB168  =1 and it removed the error. I am guessing this then allows the plc to change the value when it needs too rather than it being held at 1.

I use MB51 to control the trends which I want to run continually, can I just set it to 1 on power up or is it best to just do what I have done in the attached.

I will be testing the download all&burn today. I have also noticed that if someone access the HMI via there mobile app it will interrupt the download.

    cheers

    Hi,

you can try to use Project Memory Map.

Once I managed to exceed the allowable memory of the PLC.

The PLC may not have enough memory for the whole project, but changes in the new firmware (software) versions do not cause errors.

In update to 80 Visilogic version.

The appearance of the memory map has been updated, improved, and now
enables you to drill down into the memory allocation by clicking Analyze, at the
    bottom of the window

Then later version has updated Memory Map also.

    Hi kramtel

i have checked the memory and I have used about 1/4 of the space. I have attached a screen shot. Is there any specific areas that I should be checking in case that specific section is over it’s allocation. I have extended the time out and number of retry’s and will test again today.

thank you again for your help.

You have still not got SB168 set as 1 on power up, according to the above.  And increase your timeout length and number of retries.

    cheers, Aus

    Hi Ausman

i have set SB168 to 1 but it still gives me this error, why would it do this?

I have now set the timeout length to 4 seconds and the number of retries to 12 and will see how it goes today.

thank you again for your assistance.

  7. Hi

I have an SM-J-RA22 controller with ethernet  adaptor and having failure to “download all&  burn”. I have always been able to down load via serial or ethernet connection but today when I tried to do a  “ download all&burn “ it gets half way through the down load it it looses communications  . I have tried this on ethernet connection and then tried again with a serial connection and got the same result.  Each time the de play would stay on the Unitronics logo and I have to drop power to the PLC and restart it to get the HMI working again. It did allow me to do basic down load successfully.

I would appreciate any advise someone can supply on what the problem may be.

Dermie, that is interesting.  Here's a lift from one of my 130s in operation in roughly the same time zones.  Spot the difference:

    RTCDayDiff.jpg.d18e21360fb7f9216c01704ddd4adedd.jpg

Your system is running on the "Monday is the 1st day of the week" system, instead of it being Sunday.  I've had a quick hunt around for this as I'm sure there's something that lets this be changed, but I can't find it.    Or perhaps I'm getting confused with other PLC brands.  But because on MY systems Sunday is 1, I'm sure it exists.   Someone else chime in?

    cheers, Aus

Yes , the current day was 7 but when I reset the RTC it changes to 1 for a Sunday. When I download a updated program the day is always 1 day behind and with in 2 hrs of the download it corrects its self or if I select “set RTC” . This morning I did an initialise & Reset, then downloaded a blank program and then reloaded my program and the day of week was correct . I will monitor this over the next week to see if the problem occurs again.

I really appreciate the time you give to assist me with my programming issues.

Please post your Visilogic Version. I try to simulate this issue on my 7' Samba.

Attached is a screen shot that shows my visilogic version 9.8.91 build 0. I don’t want to do an inialize and reset of the plc until I am in the factory next to the plc tomorrow morning. I am in Australia and it is 20:25 Sunday night.

If I get the rtc current values on the comms page it shows the days is wrong. when I set the rtc from the comma page it corrects the day straight away.

I have just downloaded the program again and then checked the comms page by getting rtc current values and they are correct.

.When I “set RTC “ may have corrected the issue, I will monitor this over the next few days to see if I see this issue again

thank you for your help on this.

Dermie, you initially posted in the Unistream forum which is a totally different beast to a Samba. Your reference to the issue being solved is thus not valid.

I have deleted the Unistream post which was awaiting approval as you have essentially asked the same question here in the correct forum area.  With regards to your issue, more to come once some pondering occurs.

    cheers, Aus

Thankyou for that. I did post on what I thought was a related topic but could not find it again.

  11. When I download a new copy of the plc program the RTC shows the day wrong. Example attached the date is 23 Jan 22 and the day is shown as Saturday. This corrects it self after a few hours of the download. Also attached is the region number of software. I have seen this issue on the forum but it advises the issue was corrected a few years back. Any hits on how to address this would be appreciated.

  12. I can not change a variable on the hmi. I have MI 61 setup on one page and it allows me to change the value from the HMI. I have what looks the same setup on another page and it will not let  me change the variable. They look to be  setup  on each page but one page will not let me change the setpoint.the one with the increment of 11 does not work.

    any help would be appreciated.

  13. Thank you for the reply Flex727.

The install manual states to set jumper 11 to set to B if you are using a pt100 in AI 1 or 2 to create the CM point. The documentation implies I can have AI#0  as a PT100 and AI#1 as a thermocouple type K. The thermocouple input is not working properly and I wanted to confirm that I could mix the type of sensor I use on these inputs.

  14. I have a samba SM70-J-RA22 and have configured the hardware for PT100 on input 0 and only ever get a reading of 32767 (open circuit). The jumpers 567 are BAB. The resistance across the sensor is 109ohms. I have tried input 1 as well and still only get 32767 when displaying on the hmi. When I setup a thermocouple  “K”  it works fine on each input. I connect one side of resistors to terminal 4 and the 2 legs off the other side of resistor to inputs 5 and 6.

I did a firmware upgrade and a software upgrade and that did not help.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.
