Anyone using Novatel SA G+ modems?

We have currently switched to the Novatel SA G+ modems which are supposed to be a direct replacement for the Enfora 1318. These things are giving us a lot of trouble. Has anyone figured out how to set them up to work reliably? I had to remove a couple of the setup AT commands from the modem block, and it seems to help to manually enter the setup stuff to the modem rather than using the Visilogic tool. Still they will take a very long time to start working and dont stay working reliably. Now I have a couple that refuse to register to the network at all . Just wondering if anyone else has been through this or knows what can be done to make them work correctly.
