  1. Thank-you Joe! I hear ya! : ) In your response here to my forum use question "This is true, but ......... " - Joe Your response should have ended at ".....true". Attaching to this "...... your just 6 grumpy old guys" suggests you expect some kind of acceptance of the obviously false made up rules by Ausman .. .... and expect from us in this community forum members to swallow it! This is very poor Joe ...... one out weighs the other so immensely , they should never stand aside to each other.
  2. @ Ausman & John ! "Welcome to the Vision and Samba series forumTalk about issues related to the Vision and Samba PLC + HMI series and to VisiLogic software" "....... helping others by giving input on an odd issue or problem that arises, or sharing solutions for other "quirky" things that we may have already encountered that aren't covered elsewhere, doing it all for no $s. Didn't see this in the forum's scope of permissible questions. Can you point it out to all of us please? (sounds more like something you just made up! Please feel free not to respond to questions that don't meet your "Quirky" standards)
  3. OK ...... well it was easy to set the this analog sensor (below) hardware to ladder code, "address 10" in hardware is same as in ladder code. I don't see this linking address assignment when I try to make address assignments in the digital inputs above. in other words, how is MI11, MI12, MI13 and MI14 linked (assigned) to their hardware inputs. ......... change to: MI1, MI2, MI3 and MI4 ?
  4. Hi! In the hardware configuration screen (below), are these "fixed", must use these addresses and then assign to my ladder code input? (1,2,3,4) ?
  5. I hear ya! Thank-you! : ) OK! .......... well, lets say we not beat this dead horse anymore in of its regulatory aspects! : ) ...... instead, to explore PLC "software code replacement" for possible retro-fits for the ageing and high maintenance cost equipment out there.
  6. ......... Thank-you for your concerns! Well taken! : ) I've read much of this before! But, If you were to read the incredibly long list of the possible dangers and complications to human life of just ordinary "aspirin" ...... most wouldn't even get out of bed in the morning! I guess what I'm trying to convey about myself, is that I normally function "out on the edge" of design, thinking, etc. ....... only after do I address the necessary mandates of codes and compliance. Its the accumulated knowledge base in so many fields that drives me. : )
  7. I have in "request for standards modification/exemption" for an "invisible" morphing ADA wheelchair platform elevator design already (the ICC welcomes new challenging design paradigm). I am aware of the codes requirements/compliance for human lift platforms and elevators. Its a completely "invisible" design ..... even as it morphs under you! Basically, it "eats" the first stair step in front of you and at the same time replaces that step behind you as the platform rises. There is no horizontal transport/movement of the wheelchair during the lift. With my new interest in these multi-floor hydraulic elevators, posted earlier, for repair/upgrade, It occurred to me after looking at the totality of this existing "elevator system" ........ that a PLC could be coded (software solution) to replace 75 to 85% of the costly physical switching/control hardware (approach speed step-down, car level at floor, car door open/close, etc). One example: Incorporate a simple retractable steel cable/absolute digital encoder to know where the elevator is anywhere in its travels. The PLC would be coded for all speed profiles (ramping up and down, etc) and floor alignment with elevator car. This would eliminate all the many and very costly mechanical switch units.
  8. .......... your thoughts are well taken! Thank-you! : )
  9. I got it now! working great! ........ this feature is all assigned from the HMI. I preferred to have the parameter set buttons just disappear when not required. Press: Set-up Parms button Password : 1234 Pump PLC V.3.vlp
  10. Hello! I need to have the always visible "Water Level Sensor" toggle button be password protected before its allowed to be activated (toggled on). The four buttons on the left are normally "invisible" and set the fixed operational parameters. They are only visible when "water level sensor" button is toggled on. Can this type button be password protected?
  11. I'm not sure, but I think when I was trying out "download and burn" did I first get to see this. .............. *spookie" : (
  12. I needed to add the "D#0 store" to clear it showing the last key pad entry number on the HMI button.. Works great! Thank-you!
  13. Got it! Thank-you! ..... what is " Your model is an "Enhanced" Vision" ?
  14. Hi! I have an external 4-20ma loop water pressure sensor to tell me the level of the water. This external input would be referred to during normal operation. For the initial "on-site" set-up of parameters and maintenance thereafter, I need to have the source of the water level data NOT come from my external sensor thru the linearization FB , but from my "% of water" button in the HMI ... to set the emulated water level at will. How would I code a "switch" of the input sources? Thanks!
  15. ..... I passed my experience with this problem to the support guys already.
  16. WOW! ......... your making this irresistible now! : ) All my life I've been the one who jumps in where others fear to tread! We have two elevators (3 floor + basement hydraulic) that needs to be repaired and up-graded. The quotes came in at $80,000 for the one and $47,000 for the other! At another location, I was called in to effect repair on a similar elevator they quoted $60,000 ........ I made the needed repairs for $4,000! Back to our elevators, I've opened up and entered the ceiling escape hatch and rode the elevator up and down (there are test/maintenance operating controls atop the car). I was able to get a good feel for the "nature of the beast". All the safety and limit switches tested fine, the high pressure pump and lift pistons working fine with no seal leakage ....... the problem is in the controller CPU board on both elevators. I'm confident I could write the functioning elevator "tree" code and car call queuing ..... including its 'fail- safe" protocols now having seeing it in action. Basically, remove their proprietary CPU board controller, and install our own PLC.
  17. Hi! Has anyone here coded a PLC for an elevator? (commercial, 3 floors, hydraulic) I'd love to see the logic tree for such an application! ...... would certainly be a challenging project!
  18. ...... yep! can drive ya crazy at times! I was ready to lead shield my computer after trying everything, thinking it may be an errant gamma particle from the sun! : )
  19. ........ I would close the window just to look see at a full screen view of my HMI is all : ) wont be doing that anymore! : ) NOTE: You can close the bottom "output" window with no problems! Just never close the "explorer window! NOTE: You would think they may want to get rid of that "X" icon on the explorer window if you shouldn't be able to close it!
  20. Hi! After going thru hell! : ( .......... Changing everything, Hard Drive, win re-install, re-loading IDE, setting all file permissions, etc. The problem still was there with a vengeance. But, today, I think I'm sure I found the bug!! : ) If you close the "explorer" window on the left hand side, and then switch from ladder to HMI view .... IDE crashes code "91". You can minimize the explorer in width, just don't close it!! Cleared this crash problem 100% every time! Never fails now!! : ) Everything working perfectly!
  21. ......... is the --------(S)------- "set" need an assigned I/O in hardware config? Maybe this is what's generating the error?
  22. Here is my code, maybe see if it fails on another computer? Pump PLC V2.vlp
  23. ok ...... did all you listed above. came back clean, worked without error, then after switching from ladder to HMI a few times it gives this error: the code compiles with no errors or warnings. Is this an IDE problem or win 10 problem?
