tzole
Hello, I am quite new with the use of Unitronics products and i have 2 V570 PLC's which are running without any problem at my client's side. I would like to read data from both PLC's to a SCADA system (RSView32). I am thinking to use Unitronics OPC Server to acquire data from the 2 plc's. I want to connect my PC with the 2 PLC's by using RS-485 multidrop serial network. The Distance between them is about 50 meters. So, I will use one RS232 to RS485 converter to connect my PC and then port No1 or No2 of each PLC to make the network. Could you please confirm that it is the right way to do it ? Is there any description of how to make the connections and the necessary software configuration at the PLC side ? Thanks in advance. Regards. Eyal Koren
Hi, In general your configuration is correct. The only thing is that you don't need the RS232 to RS485 converter, because you can set one port to work in RS232 mode while the other works in RS485. Regarding RS485 network configuration see attached PDF.
