set timer via analogue input

You could do it but you need to provide an external 10V signal for the potentiometer. I would use the PLC's power supply as a source and determine the resistor needed to put the "top" of the potentiometer to 10V and connect the wiper to the analog input.

Then read the Help on special function 200 to get the value into the timer's preset.
