Gabriel Franco Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 Hello all, I must communicate an M90-T with V130. I expected to use Modbus but just realized M90 doesn´t have Modbus. I appreciate any suggestion
Gabriel Franco Posted May 29, 2013 Author Report Posted May 29, 2013 OK, let me ask it again. What I need is V130 to read (No need to write to M90) some MI´s (About 20) from M90-T, connecting via RS232. I cannot figure it out how so far. I´m considering to use ASCII format. I would appreciate any help
MVP 2014 Simon Posted May 29, 2013 MVP 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2013 ASCII format would be another option, but it is tied to the SMS functionality. The M90-T does not support SMS. The next fallback is to use the PCOM protocol and create a PCOM request using the V130. The PCOM protocol is available here: http://www.unitronics.com/Downloads/Support/Technical%20Library/Vision%20Software%20Miscellaneous/Miscellaneous/Communication%20with%20Unitronics%20PLCs.pdf This could be time-consuming if you are not familiar with serial protocols.
Gabriel Franco Posted May 29, 2013 Author Report Posted May 29, 2013 Thank you Simon, when I mentioned ASCII I meant PCOM. I´ll try today.
