Timer Entry

Quick question...

How would you enable to a user to enter the value on a timer through the HMI and then have that timer value referenced in the ladder??

I have tried using the "timer" icon on the HMI tool bar which does allow for keypad entry and then lets me reference said timer in the ladder but the value entered on the HMI does not actually appear in the timer on the ladder?

What am I missing here?

Hi,

When implementing a timer throught the HMI you are required to assign a timer operand to the variable . This is done in the Link field in the timer configuration window.

Make sure to choose Preset in the Type options.

Then, you can use the assigned timer in the ladder as any other timer.
