UAC-02RSC, Isn't it possible to use both Com?

I use Com port 2 to Modbus, Com port 1 i want to use to a modem.

 

But as son as i change Tx/Rx to Modem the Modbus communication at Com 2 stop, when change back to Tx/Rx and repower, Modbus work again.

 

Should this work?

I might be wrong, but I recall a post some time back where the implication was that settings were not separate on the com ports, even though they should be.  I don't think an answer ever came back about it, either.

Further comments from the Creators in particular, please?
