DaveE
Good Morning. I am about to enter the realms of the unknown again. I need to control a kollmorgen drive over Modbus. What I would like to do is use step and direction (I think). I am setting up a X axis Z axis linear traverse for a printing application. X axis My task is to set a home position, accelerate the drive to a position (set in settings), at that position keeping the velocity constant turn on an output, until a input (end of print) comes back from the printer, then accelerate back to the home position. Z axis My task is to go to a home position and stay there until the above end of print input, then move the Z axis up a position, again variable (set in settings) This will occur 6 times, then both Axis should go to the home positions ie bottom left hand corner. Does anyone have a good starting point for me or suggestions (apart from drink) Thanks
MVP 2023 Joe Tauser Posted January 25, 2016 MVP 2023 Report Share Posted January 25, 2016 Hopefully you have the actual hardware to play with and the Kollmorgen Modbus table. Start by getting one step at a time to work. You can program a sequencer to call the steps once you've got them figured out. Joe T.
