RaulOrtiz Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Hello, I have a project made with an OPLC Vision 1210, and I need to send information via MODBUS to an Allen Bradley PLC that serves as a Server to send information to a SCADA system, does anyone know if it is possible to do this? and how is it possible? Or is there any other way to do it instead Modbus?
MVP 2023 Joe Tauser Posted November 9, 2021 MVP 2023 Report Posted November 9, 2021 It is possible. How much pain and the cost are dependent on a couple of things. What is the model and/or family of the Allen Bradley? What protocol? Do you have an Ethernet card in the V1210? Joe T. 1
RaulOrtiz Posted December 3, 2021 Author Report Posted December 3, 2021 Hi, the AB family is Micro 830, I want to buy the Ethernet Card, but first, be sure that is possible to do it Can you help me with that? I'm thinking that maybe I can send the information by ModBus, or which options can I have? Regards
MVP 2023 Joe Tauser Posted December 6, 2021 MVP 2023 Report Posted December 6, 2021 Ahh... the 800 series (AKA Chinese Allen Bradley). Looks like they have Modbus RTU (serial) built in. This makes things much easier. Page 21 of this document lists the Modbus register table: https://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/um/2080-um002_-en-e.pdf I didn't dig deep enough to figure out what kind of serial cable you need - that's a question for your AB supplier.
