UMD drive counter overflow

We are building a machine with 2 axis moving on 155" travels and .001" units.  Both are using UMD-0010C-B3 drives.  The motors and cables are absolute encoders, but we are using them as incremental. One is working perfectly, the other overflows the parameter 1007 actual position at 94.495" and continues counting -94.494, -94.493, etc.  This is exactly 256 revolutions of the motor.

I reset the absolute encoders on startup and do not understand what is causing it.
