  1. Hi,

The cold junction is for when using a snap-in with a thermocouple input. It is located on the connector and measures its temprature.

When using a thermocouple, the temperature of the connector needs to be reduced from the temperatue input value in order to get the actual wanted temperature.

  2. Hi,

MODBUS ID is the identification for the communication between the PLC and other devices which use MODBUS protocol.

Possible values for MODBUS ID are 1-255.

Network ID is for P-COM communication over RS485 and CANBUS.

Typical values are 1-63 for CANBUS and 64-127 for RS485.

If you can read via MODBUS it means that the communication is ok.

The problem you encounter is probably a result of a wrong MODBUS command, or a wrong

    register address in the slave.

Please make sure you are using the command correctly and verify in the slave addressing of the device that you are using the correct address.

  3. Hi Steven,

In order to create the counter you want all you need to do is to connect to sensor to input HSI0, then go to Hardware Configuration > HSI, and assign an MI to the counter of that input.

This MI will hold the number of pulses.

Regarding online courses, you can find on-line presentations & Recorded Webinar Sessions in Unitronics' website under Support.

Once in a while we give new webinars. You can see them under News & Events.

  4. Hi,

The count down display you mentioned is prompted when plugging-in the PLC while touching the screen. This is how you enter Bootstrap Mode.

From this mode you can enter Stop Mode by pressing the screen once.

The problem with the touch screen you are describing, is also a behaviour which indicates that something is touching the screen.

Check SIs 40 and 41 to confirm this. Make sure nothing is touching the screen and check their values. It should be -1.

This problem can be caused by some a all particle which got stuck in the frame of the screen and pressing the screen.

  5. You are right. I will transfer your ideas to our developers.

In the meantime we recommend not ot put a button or user entry variables where the Enter button of the virtual keypad is located.

Also, in V1040 you can choose the location of the virtual keypad in the screen.
