Thorolfur
Hello everyone I am an electrical engineer and a member of a volunteer search and rescue team in Iceland. I have installed a V570 PLC in our new HQ which we use to control lighting and windows. We have got few Dali controlled lights that I would like to connect to and control over modbus. Can anyone tell me what I need for that to work and maybe send me some examples to work with?
External Moderators Nacho Posted May 8, 2013 External Moderators Report Share Posted May 8, 2013 Hello Thorolfur, welcome to the forum. Do you have a gateway DALI to MODBUS RS485? There will be a table in the gateway where you can see the operands to control from the PLC. For examples in modbus look on the HELP MENU -> EXAMPLES -> COMMUNICATIONS -> MODBUS
MVP 2022 Joe Tauser Posted May 11, 2013 MVP 2022 Report Share Posted May 11, 2013 I took a quick look at the DALI manual and the voltage levels are different from RS232 and RS485, so you will need a converter/gateway as Nacho suggests. You can not connect DALI directly to a Unitronics PLC. Joe T.
