  1. And......since your last download have you done a full Init & Reset? Something else to try as well if all the above fails. In the ladder, disable all those network comms in your program before doing the stop, and then set them to a test number/0 etc. Maybe those details get hung onto vigorously by the plc, even during stop. cheers, Aus
  2. My wife said, "No one told me that when you get a husband, his ears are sold separately." (Forum members have permission to change gender around as necessary)
  3. Did you hear about the mathematician who's afraid of negative numbers? He'll stop at nothing to avoid them. --------------- What do you call a fake noodle? An impasta. --------------- Why can't atoms be trusted? They make everything up. -------------- Is Aus worried about telling such corny jokes? 🥺 But not if they made you smile at least a little bit. Or should that be byte?
  4. https://www.unitronicsplc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Unitronics_Remote_Operator_AppQuickStart.pdf cheers, Aus
  5. Yes! Some of my things constantly adjust ramping rate on a host of different controls, with all of them are trying to arrive at the same time on another control's figure, which is also tweaked by lots of it's own adjustments. I have them in a watch.....to do just that! It's just maths being worked out, nowhere near as complex as what you are doing, but still very absorbing to watch after doing all the brain-teasing involved. cheers, Aus
  6. As an aside, it is worth noting that not all Vision controllers work with the remote access app for phones. I only use 130s and they don't. It is annoying!! 🙄 Lift from the app guide: Supported Controllers Mobile device minimum OS version: Android 4.0+, API 14+ iOS 7+ Supported Controllers: V350, V430, V700, V570, V1040, V1210, SM35, SM43, SM70 cheers, Aus
  7. RickL, you can connect your digital inputs to whatever physical input you want that is available. It's called unscrew the terminal, remove the wire and refit into whichever other free DI terminal you want to use. However, in your great discovery of Unitronics plcs, have you noticed that there is a Help section in the Menu bar of Visilogic? Nearly all of your questions to date could have been very quickly answered by you spending a little time using the various Help files available. You need to keep very firmly in your mind that nearly all the members of this forum are volunteers. We all spend time helping others by giving input on an odd issue or problem that arises, or sharing solutions for other "quirky" things that we may have already encountered that aren't covered elsewhere, doing it all for no $s. Some of us are moderators putting in considerable time. We are NOT here to teach PLC basics which can be easily found using the supplied literature. Most of your questions so far have been PLC 101, which is not what the forum is for. Your question in this topic is easily explained in Hardware Configuration/Configuring Digital Inputs. It took me 5 seconds to find that, which I also did many, many years ago when first using the system and needing to understand this brand's specifics, by looking in the Index and finding "Input". Aus
  8. Thought that would be 256! On another note, I was in the local police station when a call came in on the radio. "Sergeant, a lady has just shot her husband for walking on her freshly washed floor." "Have you arrested her?' the sergeant sent back. "No, sir" was the reply. "I'm waiting for the floor to dry."
  9. Further explaining Flex's answer, the message on the screen says it all. The application running on the PLC is what has been programmed into it. It is NOT the basic operating system that the PLC needs to function. Somewhere in that program is a set of instructions that need the SD card in place for the application to work properly. From your description, that part of the programming is involved in the alarm history. So your program needs to be modified to completely remove all elements that are trying to access the SD. Depending on the type of file used, and how much info is actually being stored, the PLC has capability and capacity to retain such a history without using the SD. For your needs I suspect that the PLC's capacity is way more than you will ever need for your logging. cheers, Aus
  10. I realise now it seemed a dumb question, but my thinking was wondering whether you had actually tried things not using floats all the time, which had been already been alluded to by others. Perhaps alternating back and forth b/n types during progress of the process might help. I don't mind making my plcs do lots of "tweaking" maths, I call it fuzzy logic! But in your case it seems that it's getting a bit too fuzzy at the end. Good luck. cheers, Aus
  11. In this case it could be jumping into prison, and that's something to fear. That was the point Joe was making. He has the ability to write such a program very quickly, but careful consideration quells any desire. By all means jump into your project, but be ready to extract yourself from the quagmire it will eventually turn into when a non-standard controller is discovered. No doubt you'll take this as a challenge, when it is actually practical advice to not do so.
  12. Sometimes encoders for this sort of thing can be replaced by laser distance measuring, depending on how clean things can be kept. I don't think you are looking for, or need, sub-mm accuracy and such sensors would be very easy to install and for your needs not that expensive. cheers, Aus
  13. Not even a suitable miniPC placed immediately adjacent, which should be pretty bulletproof? (If you can find one at present!) ----------------------- Are you using SDW4 in any of the calcs? ----------------------- Wondering if you could possibly do the "tailoring" in a number of steps, which would possibly reduce the remainder errors that I think you are getting. Do the process to a given point, store that value, do the process again X times storing the result again, and then average all the values. Then to do the next "range" to the next given point. If the machine is super accurate then the results will likely always be the same and this won't help, but if it does variations then this method might "smooth out" some of the remainder errors. The whole point would be to stop the compounding of errors. ---------------------- cheers, Aus
  14. I can confirm that this happens on my main PC on 21H1 and I'm still sitting on 9.8.65. It's just never happened to me because I have never done that sequence. Investigating it further to see if it is related to a W10 annnoyance, I found the error also occurs on my W7 Pro 64 laptop. Perhaps an issue for the creators to look at sometime? cheers, Aus
  15. Specifically, did you INSTALL as administrator? That error routinely shows up if you haven't done the install correctly.
  16. So....take MB3144 and TD81 out of the rung and see what happens, but I acknowledge this might upset the running ok in the first place. Alternatively, step through things as it appears something else is becoming involved that is initiating a refresh on a host of things. Or indeed there is a bug in 8.96!! cheers, Aus
  17. HI all, stumbled onto this site during searching for an unusual connector's name. Lots of great info there, way more than I was initially interested in, which I easily found in the common plugs and connectors area. Worthy of a bookmark, and congrats to the owner for constantly improving things over a fair bit of time. cheers, Aus https://helpful.knobs-dials.com/index.php/Main_Page
  18. For now go back to all your uploaded pics, delete, resize & repost. That should get you under the limit again. Limit changes are not available to the volunteer mods.....who are the people who have helped you so far.
  19. My settings will be irrelevant for you. You need to tailor your own based on what the original source size and type will be. Most of my pics are screenshot conversions, but the initial size is still different dependant on your PC.
  20. Maybe your file type choice is doing this, in that it is including the firmware? Your experience is well worth noting if it enables remote firmware update on a plc that shows that it will only do an update via a direct serial line (onsite). I've never considered this method. cheers, Aus
  21. @Cara Bereck Levy can we possibly do something about limits on the forum being increased. Perhaps link it to number of posts, to cover potential over-use? And an FYI for all, I use XnConvert to very easily reduce jpg file and physical sizes for forum use. I have saved a setting that gets an ideal output. Very easy program to work with, and very good at what it does. cheers, Aus
  22. Sometimes it is exceedingly difficult to remove incorrect drivers from Windows. As mentioned before on the forum, this VERY powerful and useful program, that should be treated and used with utmost care, can be very useful. Search for DeviceRemoverSetup.exe and carefully go over any resultant downloads with your A/V before installing. The real thing is about 5.6Mb. cheers, Aus
  23. Have a look at this post and the rest of the topic: https://forum.unitronics.com/topic/4599-totalizer-to-gpm/?do=findComment&comment=17077 cheers, Aus
