Software should NEVER modify a file without the user knowing. How am I supposed to maintain proper version control when UniLogic is modifying files willy-nilly?

It's called "Modified" file date for a reason. It's the last time the file was modified. That can be important. Just opening the file and closing it again is NOT modifying it. No other software behaves this way.

I'm just noticing that UniLogic is changing the "Modified" file date on the .ulpr file when the file is opened, even if the file was not changed or saved. I've never noticed this before so maybe it's new to 1.29.111. This is BAD! Unitronics needs to fix this problem immediately. If the file was not modified it has no business changing that date. Perhaps I'm missing something - anyone else see this behavior with 1.29.111?

This simply means that you are having some intermittent issues with communicating with the PLC. Is this UniLogic or VisiLogic? How are you connected to the PLC exactly?

Why are you doing the calculation of count in the SCADA instead of locally on the PLC? What resets your flag?
I recommend posting your program here so we can take a look at the issue.

NEVER place multiple logic threads into a single ladder rung. Separating the logic threads is what the ladder rungs are there for. Sometimes it will work, but without evaluating the compiled code or the STL, you can get unpredictable results.

You can NOT depend on scan time to be consistent enough for this purpose. It varies a lot depending on what the PLC is doing at the moment.
The UniStream has a milliseconds counter built in, located at 'General.Milliseconds Counter'. Just use that in your logic above.
However, it would be simpler - if you can get by with it (due to your slow 120 RPM rate) - to use the 100ms system bit which exists in both Vision and UniStream.

You have several problems here. What is the purpose of MB 146? Do NOT do conditional subroutine calls. It is also very inadvisable to do conditional Socket initializations, especially here where it is completely unnecessary.
Please post your program here. We need to see inside your function blocks to provide any meaningful help.

There are a lot of different files that make all of this work. They are not all updated at the same time. There is no reason the versions numbers would remain in sync.

You can run Remote Operator on a Windows computer and put the computer display on a TV.

Guess what? I found this setting in the Project / Options section. Wish I had seen this sooner. My preference would be for the checkbox to be available in the download dropdown since I don't ALWAYS want to go online after a download, but I'll take it.

VisiLogic is free. I'm not sure what happens when you don't register, but if you're having problems, sent a request to support@unitronics.com. They should be able to help you and they are usually very responsive.

You absolutely can with MODBUS TCP/IP. Just use two different sockets.

What PLC and I/O are you using? High Speed inputs will calculate frequency for you.

I'm using UniLogic 1.28.34 and can see no way to add a string variable to the body of an email. Am I missing something? If not, anyone know of a workaround?

What did you change? If you changed the comm settings for your serial port being used for PC-PLC comms, then you can interrupt the ability to connect from VisiLogic. Go into INFO Mode and check your serial port settings.

It's just telling you that some packets were dropped and it had to retransmit. If the process finished then all is well. If it aborted, you need to improve your connection.
