M-90 T connection issue

Hi

 

I have two old units but i haven't got original cable. I dont know if they work good so i tried to connect to them with my pl2303 rs232 to USB converter and an rj11 cable. Tried it on Windows 8.1 64bit and Windows 7 64bit. Evertime it say that it can't synchronise with PLC. I use proper COM and got good drivers and good settings.

What type of RJ11 to DB9 converter are you using?  Are you able to get comms with other PLC units?

Also, is the rj11 cable 4-wire or 6-wire?

I have used several   Prolific USB serial Converters over the years  with Win XP,  and 7

And when I tried to use them on Win 8 they did not work, even with the updated files from Prolific.

Seems there was a flaw in the chip, and also knock-offs of the chip. 

The WIN 8 drivers won't work with the older versions.

 

Ended up getting a newer USB cable with WIN 8 drivers included.

 

Chances are , that is your problem. -- Get a new USB serial converter with drivers for Win 8.

  STAR   has one that I use.
