MVP 2023 Ausman Posted May 19, 2016 MVP 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2016 Hi all, asking if we could possibly have SD Card Explorer remember the previous location for local file saving. I store my logged data files to a particularly "deep" area of my folders, and it's a right pain in the butt to start from scratch each time at the Browse for Folders window and have to click your way to the relevant area before you can proceed. click click scroll click scroll click scroll click scroll click ohh for pete's sake! I know I could cut and paste from a simpler spot, but that's not the point. cheers, Aus
Saragani Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 I know that it can be a PITA. I'll see what I can do.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted May 19, 2016 Author MVP 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2016 Thanks Saragani, pls let us know how you go. cheers, Aus
Saragani Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 Please check this version and tell me how it works for you. 10x Unitronics SD Card Suite 2.0.60.rar
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted May 25, 2016 Author MVP 2023 Report Posted May 25, 2016 HI Saragini, sorry for the delay. This appears to work ok, but is confusing as it doesn't show the files in a folder when you reach it. But it does remember the location. Can't remember if the old one showed files or not at the end folder, and too busy at present to change it all back again to see. For now, thanks for relieving my clicking! cheers, Aus
Saragani Posted May 25, 2016 Report Posted May 25, 2016 Hi, the old one was showing only the the folders (Like a tree), and as much as I remember, Windows also showing this dialog (at least from Windows vista or 7 and onwards) for selecting a folder. The button at the bottom of the window has it written "Select Folder", and in my opinion, this dialog is nices, since it also gives you the option to enter a path at the typing area, by either typing it, or by pasting from clipboard. Plus, it also supports "Favorites" and "Libraries" from Windows (No more browsing from C:\ root to "Desktop" or "My Documents")
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted May 25, 2016 Author MVP 2023 Report Posted May 25, 2016 T'riffic, I'll check it all out when I have a bit more time on my hands. cheers, Aus
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted August 14, 2019 Author MVP 2023 Report Posted August 14, 2019 HI @Saragani, (and all) you might recall messaging about this all working ok. Somewhere between this Topic's successful resolution, and the latest version available for download, this ability has been lost. I needed to download a copy a while back, and in using .66 it appeared to not be remembering locations. I did some checking once I had a bit more time available and the ability has indeed gone missing. And whilst you are fiddling with it's code on the download site, can you please make the program open to the previous window size, instead of maximised every time? cheers, Aus
Saragani Posted August 15, 2019 Report Posted August 15, 2019 Can you check it on a different computer? I know that one of our QA is suffering from a similar problem with UniLogic, and it looks like something in Windows.

Will do, but it will take a few days to do this unless someone else tries first. Just FYI, both the laptop and the main system I did this on are still on 7-64 Pro. And you guys are likely off the air until Sunday anyway, right? cheers, Aus
Saragani Posted August 15, 2019 Report Posted August 15, 2019 Yes, and I'll also not be here till Tuesday or even Wednesday.
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted August 22, 2019 Author MVP 2023 Report Posted August 22, 2019 Haven't forgotten, haven't had a chance yet due to being on single W7 puter. cheers, Aus
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted December 23, 2019 Author MVP 2023 Report Posted December 23, 2019 @Saragani Hi Saragini, I didn't really get a chance to report back until now, which has just been accumulating knowledge through general use on various O/S. I can confirm that it doesn't remember last location on program startup on any of the O/S I use. But if you close then reopen the program without rebooting, the location is retained. Once there is a reboot involved, it doesn't. Something else to perhaps change as well, which has annoyed me for some time. If you use the Favorites tab in connection type, it actually seems to be using it's OWN favorites list, not the .evb used elsewhere. A quick search on my C only reveals the one .evb, so the program must be using it's own method/file system for saving this info. It is also annoying that if you simply highlight the required favorite as a double click, or single click and OK, this DOESN'T select those properties like you would expect. You have to use the "Load Connection from Selected Row" star to do so. This is so unlike normal usage it is easily forgotten....like I just did a moment ago.....and took a while to remember this quirk! cheers, Aus
