  1. Hi;

     If  program Upload is password protected,  you cannot upload it without the password.

     If they set the Properties to  Block  PC Access,  then you are out of luck  -- all communications is blocked --

                        You will have to get a new JAZZ PLC and program it with a new program - Your Way.

    BUT

    If the Block PC Access, has NOT been Set, then

    You can download your new program overtop and replace the previous program.

    ( The password  required for the old program will also be gone with the old program)

  2. Hi;

    Looking at the picture you posted of the new installation.

       Further to Alex's Post -  System is not plug and play

        POSITION is VERY IMPORTANT

            Do You Understand how Unitronics I/O Module addressing is done when you use the EX-A2X Expansion Module?

    Now post an image -Screen Shot of the VisiLogic Hardware configuration of the system .

             VisiLogic - View HW_configuration.

    Where is the module placed in the configuration?

    Is this replacing and existing module, or added?

    If it is replacing an existing module - what was the previous module?

          or did you slide the existing modules over and add this one at the beginning?

               If it was added as the picture is shown, then ALL the rest of your I/O addressing is now messed up!

    Please

    Now post an image -Screen Shot of the VisiLogic Hardware configuration of the system .

             VisiLogic - View  - HW_configuration.

      I am curious.

  3. Hi;

    In the Unitronics Downloads  for UniStream,  there is a file    UniLogic Examples.

          There are a couple of examples for Using the Databases.

          You may find these useful to review for your project, along with the Information in Help.

  4. Hi;

    Looking at the Installation Manual for the USC-B10-T42, Page 10, the wiring you described is for Input wiring, sink

    Note the description for sink in the note below :

              Use sink input wiring to connect a sourcing (pnp) device.

    From this, you have the Inputs wired for PNP Sensors ( and your meter reading appear to indicate PNP  -- assuming the 24 VDC input  is when the sensor is sensing a target)

    Are your sensors  PNP or NPN  ????  -- Make and Model

  5. Hi;

    VisiLogic --  Under the Connection Tab,  Just above  Communications & OS    - Choice of Text or Binary File

    Handy if you have to change out a PLC and want to restore the data to the new one - like timers that have been changed, or MI/ML/etc.  that are

         used like constants IP Addresses,  ASCII Strings,  Data Table Pointers, etc.

    Useful in troubleshooting, or preserving data before making a major change.

  6. Hi;

    How Many  IO-D16A3+RO16 do you have?   1  or 4 ?

    IF you Have Only 1  IO-D16A3-RO16   -- where did you place it in the sequence  -- Before or after the IO-AI8? ,  and did you adjust the Hardware Setup in the V1210 Accordingly?

    If you have  4  IO-D16A3-RO16 then :

    The EX-A2x can handle a Maximum  of 8 I/O Modules.

    DI16 + DI16 + RO16+ RO16 + D16A3/RO16 + D16A3/RO16 + D16A3/RO16 + D16A3/RO16 + IO-AI8  = 9  Expansion!           (96 Relay Out )

    IF THIS IS YOUR CASE, THEN you will have to remove the IO-AI8,  And Buy a  EX-RC1  and use the CANBUS Port  on the V1210 to talk to it and the IO-AI8

    The EX-RC1  is an Expansion Port   Adapter  Module to add  more I/O modules to a Vision System.  It uses CANBUS protocol to interface to the V1210.

    Under Help - Examples- V900-Communications-EX-RC1-EX-RC1 with Analog   - this will guide you for the Interface required for both the V1210 and the EX-RC1.

    Also check Help.  The EX-RC1 has some smarts to do the communications and transfer the Data.  The EX-RC1  has to be programmed to set it up properly.

  7. HI;

      How are you going to communicate with the VFD?   ( Modbus  RTU (Serial) or    Modbus TCP (Ethernet)  ) ????

     Do you have a communications card in the  V430?    Which one ?

          The USB Programming Port in the V430 is for Programming ONLY, not for communicating to other devices.

      In VisiLogic under Help, there are Example programs

        Look for the Communications and Modbus.

             Open and understand them and read the Modbus Help  in the Help data.

            Learn how MODBUS works.

    In the Manual for the VFD

          Review how to communicate with the VFD over Modbus

           Locate and understand the registers you need to work with.

    Get the communications setup working.

    Write a simple program to communicate with the VFD.

    Post your issues  and  program.   People can guide you.

    Hi;

      Having Issues trying to communicate with the PLC via Ethernet ?

    Some Guidelines :

      Is the Ethernet Cable Plugged into the Ethernet Port ?  and are the LED's Flashing  for connectivity?

                  The Expansion port uses  a  RJ45 Connector also, and is often confused with the Ethernet port.

      Are the PLC and the PC on the SAME  IP Base   Address Structure ( network)?        e.g.   192.168.1.x

      If   the connection is direct, consider a  Crossover Ethernet  Cable.

     Can you  PING   the PLC IP Address   from the PC  and get a reply?

    Check the PLC   using INFO Mode   ( Password 1111)

                  Ethernet

                        Upper lines show Ethernet IP and current status

                        Middle allows you to view and set parameters - IP, Sockets

                        Press Monitor to see if any   data is reaching the PLC ( selectable by the port )

              Check the PLC NAME      ( This is the PLC's Password - needed for Ethernet Downloads )

                         Name is under    Version  -  Software  -   On  New Units --   it is a number

                            ( This can be changed in your VisiLogic Program)

    In VisiLogic :

       ---| | -----=------PLC Name --   Set the IP ---Set up Sockets

     SB2                   SB2  is a Power up one shot   that runs only 1 time in the program - at Power UP     - used to set parameters

    Always set up the Ethernet Settings within the first few Nets in the MAIN  Program ( NOT in a subroutine !)

        ( Same for Serial Ports )

    There are default settings for sockets, but they can be changed to what you want them to do.

         Check Help   for the default sockets

    When attempting to download the first time using the Ethernet Port setting up an Ethernet Connection the first time, there are 2 options

           1   Check the PLC Name in Info Mode and the IP Parameters.

                      Under communications and setting, set the Ethernet Parameters using the NAME from the PLC

                       ( After the program is downloaded, the name can be changed to your PLC Name )

           2    download the program thru the serial port   or USB Port  -- this way the PLC Name is Set   YOUR   way

  11. Hi Crin;

    This should be in the Vision Forum.

    In VisiLogic, Under View, click on HW Configuration

         Then click on the  SM70-J-R20  Box

              Look for the Tab  High Speed Inputs

                        Top is for   the Hi Speed Counter

                       Lower is for Rate.

           Set them up  and linearize the Rate to the Scale you want.

  12. Hi;

    The PNP outputs on the JZ20-UA24  are not set up for high speed outputs.

    There is an example program for the JZ20-T1 which apparently can do a High Speed output when setup properly.

    Consider stepping up to a SAMBA   SM35-J-TA24.  This unit has the HSO Functions- with step control - as well as Analog In and Out.

       Will cost more, but save a lot of  time and effort(grief) attempting with the JAZZ, and get a color screen as well.
