You could use STRUCT FB to copy 2 MI to your desired DW

I do not recommend UPT, even in a noise-free environment as you mentioned. I´ve used UTP in the past, about 50 meters with a lot of trouble and loosing communications too often. I have tied all spare wires to ground to avoid antenna effect.

 

If not possible to use RS485 cable, which is preferable, you may try SFTP, but do not use spare cables for another use than communication, as Paul already wrote.

Ofir, I use UDP. I use a single socket for two main reasons: First, others are in use (Web server, PC communication, email), second: we expect to have more slaves in the near future.

More than a question, this post is to share an workaround I found.

Visilogic 9.5.0

Modbus IP Master: V1210, using Socket 3, protocol UPD, port 502.

Modbus IP Slaves: Two V130, one V280.

Modbus IP time-out: #200 (2000 ms)

Modbus IP retries: 3

V1210 reads registers (Function 03) then write registers (Function 16) to each slave, waits a delay time to communicate (Read and write) with next slave (Delay between slaves=0.1 s).

After communicating with last slave, it waits a delay time (1.0 s) as a time between readings.

Everything works as it should only if all slaves are up and running. If any of the slaves is off (Off or disconnected from Ethernet network), V1210 lost communication with all slaves (Time-out(4) then no communication (5) in status message). It´s only possible to recover communications with connected slaves if delay between slaves is greater than 3 seconds. So, I set proper timer preset value based on communication status with each slave: 0.1 s if OK, 3.0 s if failed.

So far in my tests, files only got corrupted if I use SD Card Explorer to write files at the same time files are written by ladder.

UPDATE: I realized that If I use SD Card Explorer to transfer files from PC to SD Card (For instance to update web server pages) at the same time PLC is logging data, log files got corrupted.

Visilogic 9.5.0. I noticed "Replace Operand utility" does not replace operands inside "SD Utility Delimited Line" FB, only is able to change "Target Data Buffer" parameters. Is it a normal behavior or a bug?

V1210, Visilogic 9.5.0. After a few days my datalogging component working just fine (Creating and appending data without problem, 8 separate files, updating them every 40 seconds and emailing all 8 files attached togheter every 2 hours), EXCEL folder got corrupted. In SD Card Explorer tool, reported file not in 8.3 format and of course, could not log data anymore. Instead of all EXCELn (n=1 to 4) folders inside main EXCEL folder, appeard just one file named 4.1 I had to format my SD card again and everything is back to normal. I only send email if not appending data to files and backwards too. Any ideas or suggestion to avoid this issue in the future?

Simon, I updated OS using COM1 just when I got my new V1210, almost 2 months ago. Currently it has O/S: 3.6(14), BOOT: 2.2(09), BinLib: 0-3.10(03) FACTORY BOOT: 1.3(07). Looking at Data\OSVision directory of my computer, I can see I have last available files already installed except OS. Issue reported has happened twice in last week after regular application download, not OS update, by the way, there were no image changes at those times, just ladder. After installed the unit, I only use Ethernet card to connect and program OPLC.

I´m getting same issue after a couple of months of application development, after downloading an update of my application, but it does not happen all the time. PLC got stuck erasing some sector of memory related to images, so the only way is restarting it, all images go away and have to start download again. What can be causing this issue and how can it be avoided?

It would be nice if Unitronics staff request to advanced web server creator to launch an update that comprises some features like having a better operand use, specially MI´s, which are so spread. I just implemented it to an existing program and took me a while, specially moving values. Fortunately exist replace operands.

Are you using IO-LCx module? If so, you don´t need LINEAR function, rather than, use calibrate, acquire tare and acquire zero FBs. In that way, operand associated with your hardware gives weigh value in the units you calibrated.

OK, let me ask it again. What I need is V130 to read (No need to write to M90) some MI´s (About 20) from M90-T, connecting via RS232. I cannot figure it out how so far. I´m considering to use ASCII format. I would appreciate any help
