  1. Direct to the Cell Phone Number. Nothing special required. I'm not sure how T-Mobile works with setting up a new phone number for their prepaid SIM's, but with AT&T I had to respond to a couple of texts from them during the setup process. So you might need an old phone to plug the SIM in to complete the setup. If that is the case you'll need either a phone that takes a Standard SIM or a SIM Adapter if needing to punch out the Micro/Nano card portion.
  2. I've used Aeris, Hologram and AT&T Prepaid in the past month for SMS Testing without issues on the Cinterion model (3G). If all you want is SMS ability you don't need to be looking for M2M Services. Go get you an AT&T SIM for prepaid services and buy a $10 prepaid card. I think for just a couple dollars you can do a one day unlimited talk/text to do your testing. For actual services for your customers I think it was Hologram that allowed incoming texts at no charge and outgoing was fairly cheap.
  3. We have a customer in CA that is attempting to integrate some A-B with our UniStream unit that is controlling our supplied pump station. They are using a 1796-L33ER unit which is part of the CompactLogix 5370 family. I think I have them straightened out in regards to setting up the Module Properties (Adapter Name, T2O, O2T, I/O Sizing) My question comes in to play in regards to them configuring a MSG Instruction on their end. Their configuration has a name place for a Destination and Source Element depending on if they're Reading/Writing. Literature states this is the "First element of the tag that contains data in the other controller". Is this of any relevance to the UniStream unit or just have them leave it blank? I attempted to attach the page of literature for the MSG instruction and screen capture of my UniStream Adapter Node Configuration but upload is failing. Information in regards for the Inputs is I have a Structure set up for 3 INT16 and 8 Bits for a total of 7 Bytes. These were created in a Structure called EthernetIP Inputs. Possible the element is to be named EthernetIP Inputs or the first tag in this grouping of the structure?
  4. I think I might be in a similar situation. I am attempting to load my first project to a UniStream 7" unit. I could never establish communication between unit and PC using supplied USB Cable. I set up a Network between the two devices and established communication, but UniLogic required me to update files on unit before it would allow me to upload my project. It asked for a USB Drive which I selected and it downloaded some files and provided directions to update. I went to UniApps and updated as directions said. Upload screen with warning to not disconnect power and not to remove USB Drive in multiple colors was flashing during process. Few minutes later was the "beep" noise of the restarting of the unit. Now will sit at the Unistream logo screen with flashing dash on top left hand side for multiple minutes before transferring to a blank screen.
  5. Verify Jumpers on the Board are for Analog / Current for that particular Input. Verify Analog is set up correctly in the Hardware Configuration portion of VisiLogic.
  6. Didn't realize you were using multiple Drives. Something I have found when using the ATV212 or ATV312 Drives with Modbus/RTU is that all the Drives have to be set Line Termination instead of the just the PLC and last Drive in the piggy tail series. I typically use 2-4 in an installation and if I do just the PLC and last Drive it doesn't work. If I do all 2-4 Drives it works.
  7. I use the V570 with ATV312 and ATV212 quite regularly. Below are links to my Cloud for a couple things you might find useful Modbus Manual https://app.box.com/s/oa679ps3rpqfm5glzijwxzrutb9ssbvk Communication Variables https://app.box.com/s/o5kp4vujm171pfqhb2oupk87hkqqu5ij
  8. Seems to operate fine in the brief time I've used it this morning. Here is the download page if interested and not wanting to wait in line. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
  9. Anyone with experience on converting Modbus RTU to Modbusc ASCII via the Protocol Function Blocks? Attempting to force the value of a single Memory Integer from PLC#1 to PLC#2 via RF Radio. The RF Radios are not compatible with Modbus RTU, however.
  10. I am trying to get a V570 (Master) to connect to another V570 (Slave) and read a single Memory Integer using Modbus RTU protocol. They will be installed a couple of miles apart and I have line of site so trying to get a couple of RF Radios to achieve the communication between the two. We're using a couple of XStream-PKG by Digi RS232/RS485 RF Radios. I'm currently trying RS232 and getting nothing. A direct cable connection using the cables and connectors in the setup results in communication. I can get the RF Radios to link up using software by Digi. When mimic the connection like in the field I get nothing. I've tried both 19200 and 9600 Baud Rate. Any one with experience with these setups? Would it be better to use RS485 for this? I assume on the Master side TX of V570 matches up directly with TX of RF Radio. On the Slave side it crosses over after exiting the RF Radio?
  11. Most likely referring to Ethernet/IP and mixed it up. I think UniStream can do Ethernet/IP now, but if more familiar with the Vision line look in to a Protocol Gateway to go between the three devices (Controller, Robot, Server).
  12. Your 3G Router would have to be provisioned with a Publicly Accessible Static IP Address to be able to connect remotely with the Android SCADA App. I use the Unigo for Android as well as an iOS App regularly for remote monitoring of installations. I have used this setup on 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE Networks with success.
  13. You can use a Protocol Gateway (Red Lion and others) to link the Unitronics (TCP/IP) and Allen Bradley (Ethernet/IP) devices until their implementation is completed. For not too much more you can jump to the V350 and get the Web Server, SD Storage and I/O Expansion capability if that is the screen size you're interested in.
  14. You can utilize Email to SMS. We regularly use this method for alarm notification. All carriers have formats to use. At least this is the case in United States. For example for ATT user sending an Email to 10digitnumber@txt.att.net would receive in SMS format on phone. The only carrier in US we have issues with is Sprint.
  15. Original Firmware = 750-800MB Monthly Manufacturer Edited Firmware = 50MB Monthly Open Firmware = 3-5MB Monthly That was for T-Mobile and honestly, in the applications we're using it for, I cannot tell a difference in 3G and 4G connections. Whenever I try with 2G I have issues however. For Verizon they will not let us use 4G devices, but 3G is impressive connection in our applications. We use the Open Firmware for T-Mobile applications but surprisingly have no issues with most recent Manufacturer Firmware when using Verizon. This could now be the case with T-Mobile as they've updated 5-6 times since we first approached them, but Open Firmware allows for more control and we've spent a lot of time on getting it to work properly with T-Mobile so don't want to ditch so quickly. Still cleaning up the look and changing around devices used to power the router (5VDC), but getting there. Thanks again for support you've provided as we started getting more in to communications applications.
  16. So when you applied password to your subroutines you added to the base Webserver it automatically applied Unitronics password they have for that example correct? I would think you could send the program to Unitronics Support to unlock and send back to you while keeping the password applied to their subroutines.
  17. We utilize a standard Cellular Router, USB Dongle and 24VDC to 5VDC-USB Board to create a small Communications Panel (4x4x2). I've flashed the Cellular Router with different firmware and set it up to work with the V570 Controllers we use for our Standard Pump Stations. We set up the Controller to alert the user of Alarm Conditions by utilizing the Email Function. The user either received to Email Address or Cellular SMS using Email to Text. We use a $30 iOS App setup to remotely monitor using an Ipad and/or Iphone. The App is able to use Modbus/TCP Protocol and we just set up the Controller to Listen. We also utilize the DDE Server provided by Unitronics to remotely monitor via Excel. For Windows users I would assume this could also be set up on a Windows Tablet that has the fulls Windows OS instead of Windows RT for mobility. We've also used an Android App that I believe was created by a fellow Unitronics user, but the iOS is easier to use in my opinion. Interested in hearing feedback.
  18. We're attempting to email to text a Sprint phone whenever Alarm conditions occur and having no success of getting to go through. I can do the same thing using AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and US Cellular phone with no issues. I have 10digit#@messaging.sprintpcs.com as the correct format. I have been able to email to text via gmail to this phone as well. I've even tried setting up a dummy account on the same mail server emailing to this dummy address but having the mail server set up to forward to the Sprint phone. The dummy email gets the email but again the Sprint phone does not. Any suggestions?
  19. Any recommendation on M2M Providers? We've looked at multiple carriers etc and have come up with the following. Kore Telematics (AT&T): Requires VPN for Static IP = Extra Monthly Cost and we're a smaller company looking for cost effective monitoring for customer AT&T (Directly): Higher Monthly plans; We couldnt get the PLC/Modem to Register with given APN (i2gold) so therefore NO Communication JAZZ Wireless: Everything worked correctly; PC to PLC Communication would only work with "Ignore Break" selected; Communication was so slow Tablet/App would Connect and then Disconnect because of lag time in polling a single register
  20. Attempting to get a SIM Card from JAZZ Wireless to allow Remote Access to the V570 Controller using an Enfora Modem. The SIM is provisioned with Static Public IP Address. I have tested the following: (1) SMS Messaging (2) Email (3) PLC to PC (Call) (4) PC to PLC (Listen) I could get the SMS and Email functions to work easily. I had trouble getting (3) and (4) to work at all. We figured out that the Firewall was causing the issue with PLC to PC to occur. I turned off Firewall and successfully made this work. We will make exclusions on Firewall to allow it to happen with Firewall on now. We still can not get PC to PLC communication to occur and was hoping someone that's used JAZZ in this setup would provide some information as to why this might occur. JAZZ did not have port 20256 open and we though that might be the issue but didn't resolve anything. A few notes I've noticed. When I was having issue with PLC to PC I was never showing SB87 (Modem Connected COM2) high. This made sense because the Firewall was keeping it from connecting. Once that was resolved SB87 was high. What I'm seeing with PC to PLC is that when I put the Modem in "Listen" mode for Port 20256 I immediately get SB87 high although I haven't attempted to connect to it with anything.
  21. We are attempting using a similar M2M provider by the name of Raco Wireless for data services on the Enfora modem. We've signed up for a 90 Day Demo program and ordered 3-4 SIMs to try out. In the middle of testing now and have come under the following issue. I am able to to Initialize the modem with no problem. When GPRS Register FB occurs it does to completion and gives me an IP Address (I've been told this is the Static IP Address). However this is not the Publicly Accessible IP Address to allow connection. The IP Address given is the one for Raco Wireless's network. I was told I would need to set up a VPN between Raco Wireless and our company to solve this. However that would only allow me access whereas if I'm building this for a company in North Carolina and we're in Oklahoma that doesnt help the customer out any in knowing what IP Address to "Call" for remote access. I was also told by Raco Wireless that these other M2M providers operate off a similar set up so going to see the same problem. However, it looks like many of you have been able to get operating smoothly. Would anyone care to email me steps on how to set this up? I'm rather new to this aspect of the Controller so bear with me. My contact information is jweav2223@gmail.com
  22. I've used ScadaMobile by SweetWilliams for Apple products (Iphone and Ipad). I use Modbus Gem 2.2 which is unlimited use for Modbus and is in the $30 range I believe. I used the Android App previously mentioned for use with Android products. Still waiting on a product for Windows 8 products. I think there is only one app currently to check basic connection and a few values.
