viscoelastic
How do I do a run once? Say we are filling a tank, when we reach a certain level, I want to send an output to an alarm for a few seconds? Thanks
MVP 2023 Flex727 Posted February 9, 2017 MVP 2023 Report Share Posted February 9, 2017 Use a positive transition contact attached to a Set coil. You will then need logic to Reset the coil at the appropriate time.
viscoelastic
That makes sense, I will give that a try. I think I try to over complicate things. Thank you Flex
MVP 2023 Ausman Posted February 9, 2017 MVP 2023 Report Share Posted February 9, 2017 I'd also look at using a TE timer, which will do it in one hit. But either way, you also need to be setting up a differential around the trigger point, otherwise it will endlessly cycle the alarm as your levels go up and down around trigger point. Sometimes you DO need to over complicate things. One must remember that your student is the dumbest of dumb, yet very obedient. It will always do only what you tell it to.........endlessly! You have to do the thinking for it. On Timers, if you haven't used them much yet, have a good read of the help files via Index/Timers. Explains well. Ages ago I took a while to get my head around the way Unitronics do them, making them via using Direct Coil was new to me. Also that they only have 3 types. cheers, Aus

I have to thank Joe Tauser for that. He did an LOT of QA on those timer diagrams.
MVP 2023 Flex727 Posted February 21, 2017 MVP 2023 Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 Gonna have to add my thanks to Joe. I still pull up that Help section on timers regularly to check what I'm doing. It is very well done.
hotwires
The integrated VisiLogic help library is excellent. It has never left me questioning after a good read through.
