MartB
I have a customer that wishes to offload data from a 7" Samba. Ideally he would like to be able to dump a data table to a USB thumb drive. I've already stated this isn't possible, but I'm just wondering if anyone has come across this before and knows if it's even possible to write from the PLC directly out to the USB port? MVP 2022 Joe Tauser Posted February 5, 2019 MVP 2022 Report Share Posted February 5, 2019 No. The USB port on a Samba is not a host - it is a communication port only. He can dump a data table to the micro SD card, and they make little SD to USB adapters. Joe T.
MVP 2022 Flex727 Posted February 5, 2019 MVP 2022 Report Share Posted February 5, 2019 I haven't used a 7" Samba, but the website says no SD card.
MVP 2022 Ausman Posted February 5, 2019 MVP 2022 Report Share Posted February 5, 2019 Why can't Mart use the data table functions in remote access? It lets you download the table and then do whatever you want with it. It's under Tools if you never noticed. edit: Of course this is assuming that they have the ability to run & connect with RA. I know it's not quite the asked question but is a simple way around it. Doesn't give them access to the program. cheers, Aus
