  1. Hi James, It's Special, "hdden" function - without Ladder element. You can find the Help topic in U90Ladder > Help > Contents > Ladder > Functions > Special functions - without Ladder elements > Covert MI to MB, MB ot MI... There is a working example on Help menu > Sample U90... > Sample Ladder applications...
  2. I'm not Simon - can I help you? OK - you already know where are the examples. Take a look on the one "SMS - Printing special characters" in SMS folder.
  3. Take a look on the example SMS - Print special characters (U90Ladder > Help menu > Sample U90 Projects > SMS)
  4. It is the same - in M91 and in Vision. Can you add U90Ladder application, where it's different? In the aplication - SB3 is 1 sec pulse generator with 50% duty cycle. As you did the program, half a second it will add each scan 1 to the buffer. If you want to count seconds, you need to use -|P|- contact of SB3, which in Vision is SB13.
  5. It's not right to define thhe things such a way. In ordinary PID operation, there must be no need at all for Reset Integral error. Most of local PID controllers have no such functions - and the customers even don't know about that. Usually PID doesn't need to come to status -4. In any specific system there is a need for investigating the reason and improve the parameters to pevent status -4. Just Reset integral error is not the right soluiton.
  6. Hi Skye, The listed modems are identical in terms of operation. You can chose any of them. Currently we resell Enfora within GSM Kit 41J, which includes all accessories needed for esy connection. I hope soon we will start to offer such kits for other GSM modems listed.
  7. Good question, Joe. I don't see any reason to use ML instead of MI. But - there must be no any problem to work. Which kind of variable is used? What is the settings? It needs to be "Link four received elements to one operand". This is the only problem I canguess about...
  8. There are GSM modem/routers. In one side they connect to virtualo LAN of cellular provider. In other side - via Ethernet port to the controler. Such instruments usualy find the best layer for data transfer - GPRS, EDGE or 3D. The communication is very fast and stable. We tested here Sierra Wireless (SW) Raven EX and got amazing results. The only problem is the price. SW promises to issue soon Wavecom modem with similar functionality (same from our point of view) but without some extra functions (which we don't need) and ... on half price. Another option - ot connect controllers in the filed to ordinary GSM/GPRS modems (Enfora/GSM kit 41J), to take another one unit (or one of existing units) as "master" to poll the units in the field and tkes the data. Then, the "master" connected ot Internet, will hold web server.
  9. Usually such error comes from electromagnetic noise in the system. There are two possible ways to fix the problem: 1. review and improve your system to increase the noise immunity. In our web site www.unitronics.com > Support page > Technical Library > Support documents (at te bottom of the page) you can find a doc "Sysytem design guidelines". If you will follow the rules and advices there, thsi must fix the problem. 2. Replace EX-A1 with the newely developped EX-A2X. This module has isolated port, which enable cable length up to 20 meters. As "side effect" the new module is much better protected against noise.
  10. It's not a bug... The sign is not god sent magic. In signed operands (MI, XI, ML and XL in Unitronics OPLC) the sign is the MSB). Whe the sign is <->, this bit is 1. When shifting bits, this bit is moving left or right. This is quite natural.
  11. Hi Joe, Attached is a picture - capture from PID server (VisiLogic > Toolks menu). It shows Autotune process of an electric kattle at 60C. Blue line is Setpoint (60.0C); Red line is PV and Green line is CV. You can see clearly 3 stages. PV = 100.0% (1000). PV rises to SP. Then CV is switched off (0%). PV makes overshut and then fails below 60 degrees. CV is set ot 100% again. At the end of third cycle PID parameters are set and the system staqrts PID control. Autotune time depends on the proces. In this case it took about half an hour. In some cases it can take seconds, in oter - hours.
  12. Hi Joe, Autotune preforms several (1-3 - stated in Autotune module) ON-OFF cycles and then "investigates" over and undershut waves. Based on parameters of these waves, it calculate the basic PID parameters - Pb, Ti, Td, ST and additional parameters in 32 MI vector.
  13. Hi Vidmas, There is no such thing as "direct". There is always some protocol converter, which takes the data from PLC and transfer to GUI of SCADA. In case of OPC server, this is the "translator", then InTouch takes the data as OPC client. If you want to bypass OPC server, you need to use other "translator. As InTouch supports Modbus (Modicon driver) and Unironics supports this protocol too, many customers use this protocol (its serial or IP version - Unitronics supports both) to contact with SCADA. In case you chose this way (very good choice - already implemented many times), you need ot set thhe controller as Modbus/Modbus IP Slave. Scan EX is one of the elements of this settings, but not thhe only! You need: COM Init (RS232/485) or Card Init (Ethernet) Modbus or Modbus IP config; and then Scan EX.
  14. Hi Vadimas, No, you don't need! The controller is PCOM (Unitronics native protocol) slave by default. When performing Card Init and PLC name, using defauylt sockets settings, you can communicate from any Unitronics software via port 20256 or 20257.
  15. The Ethernet card supports 10/100 MB/s cards (switch automatically), but not 1000MB/s. The card supports 4 sockets. Each can be set independent to UDP or TCP and operate fully separate fron other sockets. This wsy you can communicate with up to 4 dxevices at a time. Which protocol you want to use?
  16. You're right - there must be condition. Which kind of communication you use? If FB Protocol - Condition can be Message received MB. If FB Modbus (Master)- negative transition of Function in progress is error code is 0.
  17. Hi Jere, Modem cannot be connected to converter. It needs to be connected to controller, which will initialise it. Maybe you can use some modem/rauter, like Sierra Wireless Raven EX, for example, and then serial to Ethernet converter. We have no experience with such network.
  18. Good news. It seems we are close now. Please: - change Socket 2 to Master (Socket Init). - Try to Connect Socket 2 to IP of Saphir. - If you will receive Connected (SB149 ON) you can try Modbus IP command - according to spec of SAPHIR applied to operand address according to Slave address table of this instrument.
  19. Can you ping Vision? Can yo connect and see Vision from VisiLogic via TCP (see my previous post)?
  20. What about DataXport? It seems to be built "especially for you"! It's much easier and friendly ot the final user than VisiLogic. If you set DataXport to Listen, PC can initiate the data transfer. Then, the data even can be attached as Excel file and sent to requested e-mails.
  21. Can you ping the ventialtion controller from your PC? What is the port number of Synco 700? Is Synco set to listen mode or it needs to perfomr the call? Can you try to communicate with Synco from PC, let's say with ModScan 32 or other simulation program?
  22. About the second question - you can store/copy received MI to another MI and there to perfomr Swap. In this case you will have two registers - each one with its value. About 64 bit Floating point - currently Unitronics OPLC support 32 bit FP. You can receive the bitmap in two sequental DW, but I don't know how you can decode them to receive the floating point number.
  23. Jazz doesn't support UTC - and practically it's not possible, as there are no 32 bit registers. Summer/winter time change can be perfomed esilly in Ladder. There neds to be simple demo for Vision and the logic and tools are exactly thhe same.
