Hello group, thank you for your work, a question that arises for me is can the plc be reset through programming with some instructions? We talk about the vision series -
OK, finally here again enough. 1). Did you actually install my pump program into your plc and play with the result by pushing F1 and watching what happens? It may have needed minor adjustment to suit your 570, but would have required little work to do so as a new project. If you did this you would have seen how it works. The whole essence of what I was saying was that you can use the interrupt to control an increment or decrement of a master count amount, that then controls the rate of + or - on a ramping speed amount, by your programming imitating what F1 does. 2). Note there is nothing else in the interrupt routine, except for the increment which occurs every 2.5ms. Note that it is not even called from the Main Routine. Also note this copy from the help files: the interrupt routine should be as short as possible, and must not exceed approximately 0.5 mSec. Why you are using a within range element to reset the count is unnecessary. You simply use a larger than.....if the count is over ML1 in my example, it gets reset to 0 and starts again. That's all that is needed. Other operations based around that count are done in other routines. In my example you can see that pushing F1 is the reset trigger. In your case it is speed of ramping, which can be easily changed by varying the reset amount. 3). The rate amount can be automatically varied according to how far off the new target is from existing amount. This can apply to any situation where ramping is needed. The target amount is compared to the present amount, and maths is done such that speed of ramping is progressively increased if the difference is large, and automatically decreases the closer the actual gets to target. Eventually getting to actual = target. In some ways this is a "poor man's" PID control. 4). I'm not putting my methods in place as they are "mine" and if you want to duplicate them you have to figure out the method yourself. But read my points carefully and it's not that hard to do. I'll simply repeat that I often use a whole host of cascading linearisations that work together to achieve a desired result, but for your situation things are much simpler. cheers, Aus -
I see in the code that for Ethernet, it returns the socket.Connected property, so it might be that the PLC closes the socket. (Maybe you have the PLC configured to automatically close idle sockets). Anyway, when Communication driver needs to communicate with the PLC again and the socket is not opened, then it will open it again. -
Hi Saragani, Thank you once again for your help, much appreciated. I have implemented your suggestions, and the system is now much more stable. I have a question regarding the PLC connection status. Currently, I’m using the property plc.PLCChannel.Connected to check if the PLC is connected. However, I’ve noticed that it sometimes switches from true to false. Is this a reliable method for determining the PLC connection status? If not, is there a better way to accurately check if the PLC is connected? If it is reliable, what actions should I take when it returns false? Should I attempt to reconnect, reinitialize, or handle it in some other way? How do I do it? Thanks. -
I mean that the PLC did not complete the previous Action file. And you need to give it a USB, not an update firmware, but an Action file with some minor function like Read All settings (TOOLS=>USB Action file Creator). In addition, try to get to PLC through the VNC and look in the Uni Apps what is wrong. If the address 192.168.1.4 is pinged, then it is probably access to the VNC.
